are important to you because they could
"save you money.

explains, them thoroughly.

Deduction as an example, This-Year for the'
first time, if you received and reported on
your income tax form interest income from
many legitimate Canadian sources,
including bank deposits, bonds; mortgages
and notes, you arc allowed to claim as a
deduction the total of theamounts up to
$14XX).

Increased Personal Exemptions is:
another item that has changed from last.
• year., All it means is that the Federal
Government has increased your personal
exemptions to coincide with the rise in the
Consumer Price.lndex. The new, personal
exemptions are printed' on your income tax
form. Guide Item 41 tellS you more about it.
Well, those are iust 'some of the areas
where it pays to follow your Tax Guide and,
of course, there are others. The Federal
Political ContributionTax Credit iS'new as
well. Guide, Item 52H will tell you all
• about that, one.-This year, Family Allowance
Payments are income and have to be
declared as such. Check Item 7.
Remember to. check some of the other
items listed in the Tax Guide which may
entitle you to claim deductions, such as n
Child Care Expenses. Guide Item 33 tells
you all about that one. And you may be
entitled to 'deduct your Moving Expenses if
you' moved' during 1974 to earn income in a
new location in Canada. Cheek Item. 34B
carefully for the details. • ,
And don't forget, if you have
contributed to a Registeied Retirement
Savings Plan, be sure to include your
receipt and deduct the allowable amount.

Rising Roils
Whitechurch Rising Rolls Club
held their 5th meeting at the home
of Mrs. Walter Elliott on Monday
evening, March 17 with an
attendance of 5. Kathy Purdon
president opened the meeting with
the 4-H pledge.
The roll call was answered by the
members giving a recipe using
bread crumbs. Anne De Bruyn
read the minutes. The next
meeting is' at Walter Elliott's
March 24th. Achievement Day is
May 10 at. Lucknow.
Mrs. Walter Elliott discussed
comparison and valuation of bread,
a good loaf of bread and scores 'for

On March 19th, the Kings-
bridge 4-H 'club held their 4th
meeting in the St. Joseph's Hall at
7.00 p.m.
Roll call was answered when the .
girls told what' they need for their
wardrobe.
Plans for Achievement Day were
studied and it will be held on May
17.
Lucille Frayne demonstrated on'
how to make Tailor Tacks..
The girls then cut out their
material and marked them.
The next meeting is on March
24th at Mrs. Van Osch's house.
Zippy Trinettes
The two presidents , of the Zippy
Trinettes called the seccind meeting '
to order and 01 repeated the 4-H
pledge. For the roll call we were
asked to tell what our regular and
occasional activities were. •
The minutes of the last meeting
were read. Each secretary read the
business minutes for the last
meeting. Since .the secretary of .
Zippy Trinettes #1 was absent,
Joan Hackett read the business
minutes..
The home assignments were
taken up. The skit was discussed
by the members of Zippy. Trinettes
#1 and the exhibit was discussed by
those in Zippy Trinettes #2.
Mrs. Cameron and Mrs. D. A.
Hackett disettssed "Suit yourself,
choosing the blouse, the pattern
and the fabric".
Mrs.. Campbell and Mrs.. Donald
Hackett showed different lines for
various figures experimenting with
materials of different colours and
textures. Each girl chose samples
of material with colours that would
suit her colouring. The other girls
commented on her choice. The
meeting was then closed.
Snappy Snippers
Elect Officers
Our first meeting for the club
"What Shall I Wear?" was held on
March. 17 in the St. Helens Hall. It
Was opened with the 4-H pledge.
The roll call "Why did you debide
to take 4-H?" was answered 'by 10
girls.
The election of officers was 'as
follows: President Club # 1, Brenda
Arnold; Club # 2, Marybelle
Cranston; •Secretary, Genevieve
Kinahan; Treasurer, Marg Mac-
Pherson; Press Reporter, Dayle
MacDonald.
The meetings will be held in the
hall at 7.15 p.m. on Tuesdays. The
fall club was voted on, the majority
being for The Cereal Shelf. It was
also decided to have a. Garden Club
during the summer. A discuision
followed on "Planning a Ward-
robe" and each girl was asked what
this meant to her. We are to think
about what factors must . be
considered if you wish to have a
functional wardrobe. Everyone is
to describe 4 points to keep in mind
when doing a survey, of the clothes
in your wardrobe. The survey isto
be started this week along with the
Personal Analysis chart. The,
meeting closed with the 4-H creed.

demonstrated the making of cheese
puffs. Sylvia Weber and Lori
Purdon demonstrated barbequed
Hamburger Stacks.
The meeting closed with the 4-H
creed. For lunch they sampled
what they had baked.

Seomstreses
Dungannon 1 4-H club held its
second meeting at, Bev Maclnnes'
on March 20 at 7.15. ,
The meeting opened with the
4-H pledge. Six girls answered the
roll call by telling what their
activities were. •
The discussion was on, "Suit
Yourself". Then the girls discuss-
ed different patterns and decided
what kinds of material might suit
each one.
The next meeting will be held on
March 27 at Donna Young's.
Achievement Day is on May 17.-
Dough Dolls
The seventh meeting of the
HolyroocV 4-H Dough Dolls was
held on March 17th at the home of
Mrs. Gerald Rhody. After opening
with' the \pledge the roll -call was
taken, which was to have record
books and recipe files up to date.
Books and files are to be handed in
on Friday, March' 21st.
Dutch minicakes were made.
These make excellent snacks. Mrs.
Hedley and Mrs. Rhody organized
plans for Achievement Day.
A final work meeting will be held
on March 31st. . •
Card Party
There were nine tables of
progressive euchre played at the
St. Augustine Parish Hall . on
Wednesday evening sponsored by
the C.W.L..
, The ladies' high prize was won
by Mrs. Margaret Leddy,. and loW
prize went to Sr. Eileen Foran. The
men's high was won by Frank
Austin and the low went to John
Boyle. The door prize was won by
Sr. Mary Williams.
Lunch was served by the C.VV.L.
ladies.
KairSh 'ea Mill '
The March meeting of Kair-
shea.VVomen's Institute was held at
the home of' Mrs. Evan Keith. The
'president Mrs. Clarence Ritchie
opened with a' poeM, followed with
the Ode and Mary Stewart Collect.
Mrs. Lloyd MacDougall read the
scripture (Easter Story).
Members were reminded of the'
Nutrition Workshop April 10th • at
Ripley, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., also the
4-H Training School at Kincardine
March 24. Leaders Mrs. 'Leonard
Clarke and Mrs. Brian Holloway,
the course being "The Garden
Club". The Officers' Conference is
to be in Waterloo April 29, 30 and
May 1, Mrs. Philip Steer. was
chosen as delegate:
Members are reminded to bring
suggestions to April meeting as to
a //project for International Wom-
en's Year (for June meeting). The
resolutions convener is to have
meeting to draw up a resolution re:
Housewives being given the oppor-
tunity to pay into the Canada
Pension Plan. The standing
committee conveners will meet to
make reports for the annual
meeting, April 9th at 8 p,m. at the
home of Mrs. Lloyd MacDougall.
Mrs. Clarence Ritchie gave the
4-H' report, also reports of standing
committees were given. The roll
call was answered by 11 members
and 1 visitor - A product of a
Canadian Industry I am wearing.
Each person was to show and tel
of an article made 'this winter.
Mrs. Allan MacDougall chaired
the meeting for the following
program, singing - Rose of Tralee
and My Wild -Irish Rose. The' topic
"Canadian Exports and their
destinations" was made most
interesting. Mrs. Lloyd MacDoug-
all conducted 2 or 3 'contests.
It was decided to take part in the
Cancer Canvass again this year.
Mrs. Lloyd MacDougall gave
'courtesy remarks. - The meeting
closed with 0 Canada and the
singing of the Institute Grace.
Lunch , was served by the hostess
and directors, Mrs. Lloyd Mac-
Dougall and Mrs. Allan MacDoug-
all.
Next meeting, will be April. 17th
at 1.30 p.m. at the home of Mrs.
Leonard Maclnnes. This is the
annual meeting, bring your re-
ports.
