Former Minister
Died At Blenheim

Word was receivedlast week by
Bluevale United congregation and
passed on, to Whitechurch United
.Church congregation that Mr. Karl
J. de Koeijer, a minister here in
1973, had passed away at his home,
in Blenheim. The funeral service
was held there on Saturday.
Mrs. Garnet Farrier, .Mrs. Lorne
Durnin and Mrs. Victor Emerson
on Tuesday attended Lucknow
Women's, Institute in the InStitute
Room. Mrs. Emerson discussed
the Public Relations Officer's
duties. Mrs. Durnin with the
fiddle, accompanied by Mrs. Far-
rier on the piano, gave lively
musical numbers.
The Bruce South District Execu-
tive and District Directors meeting
is being held Tuesday, March 25 at
Artnow Hall at 10 a.m.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Evans
returned home frcim Florida to
Wingham, where they were met by
Wesley Tiffin Thursday evening.
On March 23 there Will be 'no
service- •0 Chatmer's Church,
Whitechirch, 'a special Centen-
nial Service is being held - at
Langside Church at 11 a.m.. Mrs.
Sheila Kirkland of Toronto with
Mr. Bev Kay, student preacher and
member of both congregations, will
give a service "A Festival of
Banners", honouring the creeds of
the christian church. Lunch will
follow the service in Langside Hall.

Bible Study , is being held on
Saturday, March 22 at 8.3.0 at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Elliott in the form of a sing song.
Mrs. Edith Brown of London
spent the week end with her
parents Mr. and Mrs. Bill Evans.
Wednesday evening last the
Lucknow Hockey Pee Wees played
Cayuga team at Lucknow. At the
end of the game time they were
tied 3-3. In the 10 minutes
overtime Cayuga scored, giving a
score 4-3 in their favour.
The Lucknow Pee Wee hockey
team went by bus to Cayuga on
Saturday, The 'game was, another
victory 4.1 for Cayuga. .The
Lucknow team are' now out of the
0.M.H.A. Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Moore,- Andy and Linda, accomp-
anied the team to Cayuga, where
Richard Moore, their son, was one
of the Lucknow team. On Monday
the Lucknow team went to Goder-
, ich to take part 'in the games of
Young Canada week.
Mr. and Mrs. George Fisher of
Wingham were Wednesday even-
ing visitors, with Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Rintoul.

Saturday evening the White-
church ,langside Young People's
Society held a fun night at
Brookside School where volleyball,
basketball' and other games were
enjoyed. Some as they returned
home enjoyed a "Jogging Party"
in Whitechurch.
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Milligan.,
Mary Lou and Clara spent the week
end with their relatives Mr. and
Mrs. Pat Donnelly and Angela, Mr.
and Mrs. Craig and family of .
Streetsville. Clara remained for
the holidays with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Wilson of
West Wawanosh were Sunday
evening visitors with Mr. and Mrs.
Victor Emerson. •
Mr. Bev Kay returned to Knox
College on Sundayevening, accom-
panied by his daughter. Wendy,
who will holiday with her aunt and
uncle and family at Guelph and
with her aunt Miss Gayle Kay at
Kitchener.
Mrs. Bill Willis returned home ,
on the week end from Kitchener-
Waterloo Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Conn
were Sunday visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Scott of . Ripley.
Brian Falconer of Sarnia spent
the week end with Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Mowbray.

Schafer, Jennifer and Jeffery of ,
Elora, were Saturday visitors with
•Mr. and Mrs. Archie. Purdon and
family and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Rintoul and family. Mrs. Schafter
was playing broomball with the,
Elora team, who was taking part in
the tournament at Blyth.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Black of
Belgrave spent the week end with
Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Rintoul and
family at Tottenham. On their
return Carol, Kimberley and Deb-
bie Rintoul returned with them to
spend the holiday week with them
and with grandparents Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Rintoul and family.
Mrs. Annie Irwin of Mitchell,
formerly of West Wawanosh, has
spent sometime at Stratford Hosp-
ital and a Nursing Home with a
broken hip. She recently had to
undergo surgery 'for other compli-
cations. She expects to return to
her own home this week.
SCHOOL HOCKEY
During the, past month final
games have been played among the
hockey teams at Brookside.
On Tuesday, March 4, in the
girls , series, the two teams the
Streakers and the Thunderbolts,
played their final game which
ended in the series being tied.
In the first. game of the boys'
semi-final play-offs, the Scouts,
with •Mr. Liddle as coach and
'Richard Jurjens as captain, defeat-
ed the Warlords, with Mr. Camer-
on as coach and Alex Irvin as
captain. 'In the second semi-final
game the Knights, with Mr. Black
as coach and Hugh Burgsma as
captain, defeated the Toros with
Mr. Granger as coach and David
Errington as captain. The final
boys' game will be played between
the Scouts and the Knights on
Friday, March 14, in the. Lucknow
arena. •
TEACHERS VS STUDENTS
On March 11 the teachers played
the students in a game " of
broomball. The students were too
fast for the teachers and handed
out a 6-0 defeat.
The next day however, the .
teachers defeated the students in
volleyball. It was sweet revenge.
