spect to the opening of two Canada
Manpower Centres for Students,

Mrs. Elmer Bushell of kinloss and
resides at the home of her parents
on No. 9 Highway. She attended
Lucknow and Wingham Schools
and Waterloo Lutheran University:
In his • announcement, Mr.
Ketcheson stated that the local
Centres in Walkerton and Hanover
are expected to open in mid May.
Miss Bushell who will work from
the Canada Manpower Centre in
Walkerton will. be calling on
employers within the next few
weeks to solicit jobs for students.
In addition, she will be taking
registrations from students who
wish to register in advance of the
end of the school year.
Last year the Canada Manpower
Centre for Students in the Walker-
ton area was able to find jobs for
369 students.
"Reports received from employ-
ers who hired students were very
encouraging", stated Mr. Ketche-
son, "and we hope to do even
better this year."
"Our aim is to find as many jobs
as pcAsible for .students." If the
local employers will support the
program as they have in the, past by
hiring a student over the summer
period, this will help us reach our
goal: r "By employers" Mr.
Ketcheson said, "we mean house-
holders too." Students are very
capable in such jobs as cleaning up
yards, 'mowing lawns and cleaning
windows; etc. Our students need
the support of the whole commun-
ity,
