Delivery Problems
On Sentinels Out
Of Goderich
The Sentinel apologizes to sub-
scribers on Goderich rural routes
and 'in' the town of Goderich.
Three times in the last month
they have been late receiving their
Sentinel. sometimes several days
late.
The Sentinel has been in touch
with the customer service repres-
entzzi:e of the post office .who has
pledged his co-operation in sorting
the problem out.
The Goderich mail bag. which
contains all Goderich rural routes
and the town papers, tied in
indiVidual bundles, is in the
Lucknow/Post Office by noon each
• — Wednesday, without exception.
The bag is transported to
Wingham where it is switched to a ,
Wingham to London mail truck.
Normally. the bag is dropped off
in Clinton' on the way to London,
thentransported over to Goderich.
MI going well, the papers are at
Goderich early Thtirsday morning
and are delivered that 'day.
As near as can be determined,
the problem arises when the truck
driver fails to drop the bag off in
Clinton, takes it into London where
it becomes bogged down for a day
or two, or lime.
We have been assured by post
office officials that even if the
Clinton drop-off is missed, and the
bag goes into London, in theory it
should still, come back to ,Goderich
in time for early morning delivery
on Thursday.
Of course, this is not happening
and the customer service repres-
entative in London is attempting to
find out ,why. •
We hope for improved deliveries
on Goderich rut al routes. To the
many who phoned enquiring about
their paper, we're glad you miss it,
and sorry about the inconvenience.
