90th Birthday
ST. HELENS NEWS
Congratulations to—Calits Aitch-
ison of Wingham and formerly of
this community on his 90th
birthday on 'March 10th. On
Sunday he was guest of honour at a
birthday party in the St. Helens
Hall. '
Mrs. Fred McQuillin spent -ten
days with 'her grandchildren Jill
and Scott. ,McQuillin in Oshawa,
while their parents . Mr. and Mrs.
Barry McQuillin enjoyed a holiday
in Rome.
Douglas Shaw is hospitalized in
London,' where be underWent
surgery this past week. The
community wish he and,Mrs. Shaw
improved health.
Eight tables enjoyed the Shoot
Party on Thursday night. High
prizes went to C.W. Hanna and
Bob Jefferson with second going to,
Mrs. Ted Robinson and "Pete"
Jefferson. Lucky score card was
won by Ruby Hanna and the
travelling shoot was won by Bill
Purdon. The next party is March
20th.
KINLOUGH
Mr. and Mrs. Don Bertrand and
Marc of Sitncoe spent the week end
with Miss Winnifred Percy and
Brian Percy and her uncle Bruce
Orr. Other visitors at the same
home were Mr. and Mrs. Morley
Bushell, Margaret ,and Blair of
Wingham.
Mr. and Mrs. Clare Spading and
Doug off Walkerton . visited on
Sunday evening with Mr. and'Mrs.
Art Hildenby. ' '
The Holyrood Women's Institute
held their card party at the hall on
Thursday evening. Ten tables
were in play. High lady, Mrs.
Gerald Rhody; high gent, Oscar
Hodgins; lucky gents prize, Gerald
Rhody; lucky ladies prize, Mrs.
Frank Mauldeth
Mrs. Agnes Hodgins is enjoying
a holiday in Florida.
The Anglican Church Women
will meet on Thursday afternoon at
the' home of Mrs. Fred Page with
Mrs. Gerald Rhody and Mrs.

MOTHER PASSES
The community extends sincere
sympathy to' Mr. and Mrs. Peter
VanOsch and family in the death of
Betty's mother, Mrs. Alex Becker,
who passed away, last Wednesday
in 'the Walkerton Hospital. The"
funeral was held on Saturday at
Sacred Heart Church, Mildmay.•
Michael Steffler, four-year-old
son of Mr. and Mrs. Clem Steffler,
returned hothe from University.
Hospital., London last Tuesday,
where he had undergone surgery.
Mr. and Mrs. Gene Frayne and
Mr. and Mrs. Mark Dalton have
returned after a ten day holidaY to
South Carolina.
Several ladies from this area
attended the World Day of Prayer
at South Kinloss Presbyterian
Church on Friday.

are enjoying a winter holiday in the
sunny south.

Langside church cgtiducted by
Mrs. Sheila Kirkland of Toronto.
This service.4has been conducted in
several large churches in the
Toronto area. We feel very
lionoured that she is taking time to
come to a little country church.
Lunch will' be' served after the
service in the hall across the road.
A welcome is extended to all who
would like to . shafe in the service.
We are sorry to report that Mrs.
Bill (Anita). Willis is a patient at
Kitchener-Waterloo HoSpital. We
wish her a speedy recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rintoul 'were
Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Ford of Winghant.
Brian Falconer of Sarnia spent
the week end with his grandparents

Listowel between Atwood and
Plattsville, with Plattsville being
the winning team.
Last week' and this week has
been a busy time for the high
school students writing exams.
