Night Held Saturday At
Lucknow Arena, Is Well Attended Rantarns Lose

• Lucknow Bantam hockey team,
now engaged in the competition for
the W.O.A.A: Consolation Trophy,
received their first defeat of the
series on Sunday.
The game' was played in Paisley
and Lucknow received 'a trimming
to the tune of 8-2.
Scoring for Lucknow were Eric
Cayley and Mark Frayne.
There are just three games left in
the series. Lucknovv was scheduled
to play Hensall in Lucknow on
Tuesday night and Milverton this
Stmday night in the local arena at
7.00 p.m.

Lucknow Arena Saturday evening.

bandmaster GOrdon Cayley, ,were
in attendance and accompanied-
many of the skating numbers.
Olive Lapp of Wingham is , the
instructor ,for the figure skating
lessons. Each class had the
opportunity to demonstrate what it
had learned throughout the year.

skated the "Dutch Waltz", "Can-

MacKinnon, Allister MacKay and
Austin Martin was, the overall
winner of the Mens' club bonspiel
on Saturday. Second place for the
day went to Don MacTavish's rink
of John , D. Coiling, John Loomis
and Russell Phillips. Each of the
top rinks.had a record of three wins
and a plus of eight, but Ron had the
higher aggregate. Harry Coiling
took second on the early draw with
2 wins plus 8, curling with Ed Fink.
Blake Alton and John Coiling. Don
Paquette with' 1 win plus six took
third prize, assisted, by Mervin
Funston, Jim Paquette and Jelin
Van Kooten. Skipping other
entries . were Bert Elliott, Jim
MacDonald and Sandy MacChar-
les.
Second place on the eleven
o'clock draw went to Gary Court-
ney's rink.with 2 wins plus six
assisted by • Bob Lyons, Blain

Brooks took third spot, with an
identical 2 wins plus six but having,

A draw prize, donated to the club
by' President Sandy MacCharles,
was won by Gordon Roulston. Club
member, Andy Ritskes of Wing-
ham, suffered a painful electrical
burn to his hand working on the'ice
plant Saturday morning, which
required' hospital attention. Spec-
ial thanks go to bonspiel convener,
Carrick Coiling- for the arrange-
ments, and convener Barbara
Paquette for the excellent meal
served to the hungry curlers, and
