LETTER TO THE EDITOR Something To "Quack" About! JUST BETWEEN CLUBS Ripley Happy Hearts Club as well as other active citizens of Huron-Township, are really putting Ripley on the map theSe times with their various activities. A lot of credit is' due to - the publicity committees from these groups which supply the local paper with the information about their activit- ies. Our Town and Country club of Lucknow is doing an excellent job WO, but scarcely a word do we see in our local papers. We had a splendid entertainment on "Bobby Burns" night chaired by Mrs. George' Kennedy, also a "Valen- tine Concert"- chaired- by Mrs.. Raythond Leddy. While the conveners of those entertainments are not looking for publicity, this. comparison of friendly competition is often good for both clubs. We are like two of our barnyard birds. both lay beautiful eggs. But the modest Lucknow duck lays her egg and rolls off the nest saying nothing about it, while the Ripley chicken cackles all around the -place, telling what she has done, When she lays an egg. This is advertising of the better kind,. If you do 'not agree with this thought, come to St. Patrick's concert in the Legion Hall, Tuesday, March 18th. You will get a one dollar concert for twenty five cents, and maybe you will think our duck has something to quack about. ; Johnnie MacMurchy. 30th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Jamieson were entertained by their family on the occasion of their 30th wedding anniversary at Sutton Park Inn, Kincardine.. Those attending were Art, Dian- ne and Leanne Short Of Woodstock, Wayne, Arlene and Michael Jamie- son 'of Walkerton, Ivan and Gail Cranston of Lucknow and Cathy and Glenda of Lucknow. Ripley.- Huron Reunion Hi-Lights By Elaine Pollock With winter just about over, the Ripley-Huron Reunion Committee is getting busier. The various committees are all reporting '- progress, particularly Jim Elliott and his Beard Growing CompetitiOn. s There are prizes for the different- classes, shaggy, trimmed, etc: and for those who prefer not to give their razor a rest, Jim' and his boys are selling permits exempting them, from competition. Names foF the mailing list are still coming in. Received a note from Bruce and Peg McCreath in Nova Scotia and Mrs.. John R. MacKenzie (Miriam Lindsay)., Nice to hear from people.
