Township council and a Hanover man who is
building a drive-in theatre at the. north end
cl' the township spilled into its fourth month
Monday. .
Township council faced with a Supreme
Court of Ontario writ ordering it to lift a '
Dec. 21 stop work order and to issue a new,
building permit for the drive-in to William
Garcia, decided to defer complying with the
order until after the township's lawyers de-
termine its legal position.; , • - • •

suing the stop work order.
Huron Township received the writ Feb. 20.
In a special council session Feb.' 22, coun-
cil.deeided..not. to lift the stop work order
immediately.
The stop work order' was issued' after the
township decided construction at the drive-in
site was exceeding the 1,200-square foot area
permitted in the building permit. ,
The. passing of a holding bylaw to prevent
future commercial development in the ,, town-
ship, which borders Lake Iluron, was temini-
lardy deferred pending. legal .advise' from
.township lawyers.

is "doubtful" such a holding bylaw could be

party on,Friday evening at which 6
tables were filled. Prizes• were as
follows: ladies' high, Mrs. Victor
Errington, second, Mrs: Russell
Brindley; men's high, Albert
Brown, second John Andrew. The.
next Orangemen's card party will
be in two weeks, Friday, March 14.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs.
