The • bride was given in
marraige by her uncle and god-
father, Norbert Zettle of Walker-
ton.'She wore a floor-length gown
of white polyester crepe trimmed
with lace on the bodice and
around the hemline. A long white
detachable train was , trimmed
with five white rosettes and
edged with white lace. Her three-
tiered lace-trimmed veil fell from
a V-shaped headpiece trimmed
with pearls and white flowers and
she wore a corsage of mauve
rosebuds with lily of the valley.
She wore pearl earrings and a

pearl necklace, her 'something
borrowed' from the groom's

Miss Kathy Alftin,, sister of the
groom, of Wingham wp`.,maid of
honor. She was becomingly at-
tired in a floor-length green gown
trimmed with white 'with black
velevet ribbon. She wore green
velvet ribbon in her hair and a
corsage of yellOw and orange
rosebuds with lily of the. valley.
She also wore pearl necklace and
earrings. .
Jim Alton of Wingham was his
brother's best man. He and the
groom wore brown jackets with
checked pants, gold shirts with
white ties. The male members of
the wedding, party and the
honored guests wore white
carnation boutonnieres.
The bride's mother wore
street-length red jumper with red
and white long-sleeved blouse.
Her- corsage was red rosebuds.
The' groorn's 'mother chose a
floor-length gown' featuring black
bodice of polyester crepe and
white satin flowered skirt. The
bride's aunt, Mrs. Zettle, wore. a
floor-length yellow dress with a
corsage of pale pink rosebuds,
Dinner was' held at the' home of
the groom's parents where 'a
smorgasbord dinner was served.
The table was centered with a
two-tiered wedding cake topped
With white bells and trimmed
with yellow flowers and white
doves. Yellow and green, candles
burned on either side of the cake.
For travelling, the bride wore 'a
short dress of white polyester
doubleknit with long purple
sleeves. White wet-look knee-high
boots complete,d the ensemble
and she wore Mauve jewellery,
The couple ' is presently re-
siding at RR 1, Wingharn, where
the groom is working , on a farm.
They/ will plan a wedding trip
sometime in the summer.
Guests were present from
Walkerton, Wingham, Goderich;
Belgra've and Teeswater.
Honored guests were Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Anderson of
Goderich, grandparents of the
groom, Mrs. Anderson attired in
a floor-length dress of tan
polyester doubleknit with a cor-
sage of white roses,
,An open reception for the
couple will be held at the Luck-
now Legion Hall on March 1, at
9:30 p.m.
Prior to,her wedding, the bride
was 'honored at a shower hoted
by Mrs. William Alton of. Bel-
grave. Her sister, Barbara
Benninger, and sister-in-law,
Mrs. Don Benninger, hosted a
shower in Teeswater after the
$13,100 Grant For
Falls Reserve
The. Honourable 'Leo Bernier,
Minister of Natural Resources,
announces the approval of a
provinCial grant of $13,100.00 to
the Maitland Valley Conservation
Authority for tfie 'Falls Reserve
Conservation Area.
This area comprises some 229
acres of land in the Township, of
Colborne, County of Huron.
Development work carried out
since the Area 'was purchased, in
1964 included the provision of
camping, picnicing and fishing
facilities and development of nat..'
ure trails.
During 1975 the Authority pro-
poses to 'expand the camping area
to meet increased demand, equip
the recently constructed mainten-
ance building., develop an inter-
pretive facility and undertake,gen-
eral development such as tree
planting, games field development
and various other improvements.
A preliminary engineering study of
possible swimming facilities and
other general-planning services will
be carried out also.
All member municipalities will
bear the Authority's share of the
cost.

• BROWN SMYTH
The death of George Brown
Smyth, formerly of Dun,gahnon,
occurred on Monday, february
10th at Huronview, Clinton in, "his
1 84th year.
1 .Mr„ Smyth 'was born in 'West
Wawanosh Township on Septem-
ber 26, 1891, a son of Robert Smyth
and Susanna Baldrow.
He is survived by one„ brother
Robert Smyth of Huronview.
He was predeceased by. his
parents, two sisters Sarah and
Bessie and two brothers William J.
and Abraham.
For many years Brown Smyth
was actively involved in municipal
service in West Wawanosh Town-
ship.: He was on the municipal
council. for 12 years, 6 of them as
Reeve. In '1947 he was elected
Warden of Huron County, the
highligt of his municipal Career.
Always .an active worker for the
Liberal party, he served on county
and local committees for many
years.
Mr. Smyth was a past director of
West Wawanosh Mutual. Fire
Insurance Co. where he gave
valued service.
The funeral service was held at
MacKenzie Memorial Chapel,
Lucknow on Wednesday, February
12. ReV. R. C. McClenaghan- 'of
Dungannon •United Church was
minister. '
Temporary entombment was in
Dungannon Mausoleum.
Pallbearers were Gordon Smyth,
George Smyth, Robert Smyth Jr.,
William Smyth, Lawrence Smyth,
/Robert Brigham.
Meet At Ripley
The District officers meeting for
Grey Bruce Women's Institute was .
„held at the home of Provincial
Board' member Mrs. Francis Gem-
mell, Ripley.
Officers from Bruce East, Grey
Bruce and Bruce South attended
and were pleased to have Mrs.
Herb Maluski of Chesley, the new
Provincial President, in attend-
ance. She was very thrilled to• be
elected to this all important office
and hopes to carry out the work of
Women's Institute for Home and .
Country. Mrs. Rose Biasing was
also elected to the Provincial Board
of Directors 'as convener of Family
and" Consumer Affairs.
Mrs. Gemmell gave a good
report of the Provincial board
meeting in Toronto. She reported
that Ontario Institutes came third
in pennies for Friendship, also'
gave an outline on the Nutrutional
,Education Fund (Save the sight)..
The officers conference is to be
held April 29, 30 and May 1st at
University of Waterloo. for secret-
ary-treasurers or conveners of
'Agriculture 'and Canadian Indust-
ries or a member at large.
This year is International Wom-
en's year. If was suggested we
have a special program for this
project in June.,
Don't forget the workshop ,on
Nutrition in Ripley on April 10th.
The meeting closed in the usual
manner and the members present
had many items of interest to
report back to their Districts. •
