Is Club President
On Saturday afternoon the Holy-
rood 4-H- club met at the home of
Marilyn Rhody and ginned with
the pledge and the election of
officers as follows - President,
, Wilma Duiker; Treasurer, Marilyn .
Rhody; Press Reporter, Carol Wil-
son.
Mrs. Gerald Rhody and Mrs.
Delbert Hedley are the leaders of
the course and this was the first
meeting. Mrs. Rhody demonstrat-
-ed-how-to-nrake-frozen whole-wheat-
bread. After 'the bread was baked
everyone enjoyed a sample.. The
meetings' will be held alternately at
the homes of the leaders.
The 4-H motto closed the meet-
ing.

Kitchen Kuties •
The third meeting took place
Friday, February 14th at 4.00 at the
home of Mrs. DoeWan. We
opened with the Pledge. Dianne
McBride took roll call "Basic White
Bread" and then read the minutes
which were approved.
Mrs. Doelman showed'us how to
make batter breads.. Mrs. Hald-
enby talked about convenience
yeast products and batter breads.
We did a short game. We ate the
batter, bread which was good. We
closed with the 4-H motto.
Our next meeting will be Friday,
February 21st at. 4.00 at the home
of Mrs. Doelman.
Bread, and. Butter
The fourth meeting of Lucknow
No. 2 "Bread and Butter" .chib
took place on Wednesday, Febru-
dry 12, at Mrs. Jean Whitby's. We
opened the meeting with-the 4-H
pledge. •
The secretary gave her report.
The treasurer was absent. Mrs.
Whitby talked about the Goodness
of Bread. The Food Guide for
Health was discussed.
The assistant leaders had pre-
pared Basic and Rich roll dough
before the meeting. From this the
members made various sizes and
shapes of rolls.
We closed the meeting with, the
4-H Creed.
Clover Valley
The Clover Valley 441 club held
their 3rd meeting February 11 at
Donna Elphick's at 7.00. We
opened the meeting with the 4-11
pledge followed by roll call which
was to bring a piece of bread which
we had made for our. Home
Assignment. Wendy Hamilton
read the minutes of the last
meeting which were correct as
read. We then decided on our club
cover. ' Annette Elphick gave the
treasurer's report.
The discussion was led`by Mrs.
Elphick. It was about Batter
Breads and Convenience Yeast
Products. Both leaders told us
about our Achievement Day plans.
Mrs. Hamilton demonstrated how
to make Brown Batter rolls.
We then had lunch' of the bread
made at the last meeting, along
with the batter rolls and juice. It
was delicious! We closed' with' the
4-H Creed.
441 Club '
PINE RIVER NEWS
We held our third, meeting
Tyesday, February 11th. at 7 o'clock
at" the home of our leader 'Mrs.
Sharon Courtney. All our meetings
will be at our, leader's home: Our
books were checked and every
member had their home assign-
ments done and brought a piece of
basic white..bread. We had our
business and then demonstration.
Mrs. Courtney demonstrated
how to make brown batter rolls.
While we were waiting on the
dough to rise we discussed batter
bread and yeast products. We also
discussed what we are doing on
Achievement Day.
Lillian Cottrill 'brought the mat-
erial for our covers. After the rolls
were baked we sampled them.
We held our 4th meeting on
Tuesday, February 18 at 7 p.m. at
our leader's home. Judy Snobelen
demonstrated how to make sour
dough bread. We discussed the
goodness of bread food guide for
health, sweet dough bread for, rolls
and buns and sour dough bread.
Each member, shaped dough into
fancy rolls. Everyone showed 'the
leaders the piece of batter bread
that they made. Roll call for' next
week is to bring a loaf of sour
dough bread.
Clover Valley
Dough Punchers
The fourth meeting of Clover
Valley. '4-H club' was held on. Tues-
day, February 18 at 7.15. ' The
president opened the "meeting with,
the 4-H pledge. Sourdough bread
Starter was demonstrated by An-
nette Elphick at the first of the '
meeting. Shaping and baking rolls
was demonstrated by members
with guidance of leaders. The roil
call was answered by all niembers.
Annette Elphick gave a treasurer's
report.
'The goodness of bread and food
guide for health was discussed by
Mrs. Elphick. Mrs. Hamilton
discussed sweet dough for rolls and
buns as well as sourdough bread.
The president then closed the
meeting with the 4-H creed.
Nine Kneaders
The fourth meeting of Lucknow
No. 2 Club, The Nine Kneaders,
was held on February 20 at Mrs.
Glen Walden's at 7.00 p.m. The
meeting was opened with the 4-H
pledge., The minutes were read
and the treasurer's report was'
given.
The design for the cover we
chose was by Ruth Alton,
Achievement Day for this club is on
April 19 in Ripley. We have
decided to have an exhibit.
Working in two groups we each
made different shapes and sizes of
rolls and buns. While.these were
rising Mrs. Walden talked to us
about the goodness of bread,
Canada food • guide and sweet
doughs for rolls and bunS. After
our rolls and 'buns rose_ we baked
them and all enjoyed eating them.
The next meeting will be at
Walden's on. Thursday, February
27 at '7.00 p.m.

Busy Bakers
The second meeting of the,
Kairshea, No. 1 4-H club was held
at 'the home of assistant leader
Mrs. Mowbray. We opened the
meeting with the 4-H pledge.
Janet. Bannerman read the minutes
of the last meeting. We decided on
a club name which • is Kairshea
Busy Bakers. Each girl took part in
putting the ingredients in the
making of White Bread.
The third meeting of the
Kairshea Busy Bakers was held at
the home of leader Mrs. Ritchie.
We opened the meeting with. the
4-H pledge. Each girl took part in
putting the ingredients in the
making of batter bread. We
discussed what we were going to do
for Achievement Day. Mrs. Ritchie
discussed' convenience foods.
The. Rising lolls
The third meeting of White-
church Rising Rolls 4-H club was
held on Monday' evening at the
home of leader Mrs. Archie PuFdon
at 7 p.m. .

Guide. We ate the buns which
were .very good.

Friday, February 28th at 4.00 p.m.
at the hOme of Mrs. Haldenby.

Walter 'Elliott discussed the mak-
ing 'of batter bread which doesn't
have to bey kneaded. Mrs. Purdon
discussed the pros and cons of
using convenient yeast products.
Achievement Day was discussed.
The club gives a Demonstration of
Bread Stuffing to be done by Ann
de Bruyn and Lori Jamieson.. '
The, meeting closed with repeat-
ing the 4-H Creed.
