twelve. Second place went to

with two wins and a pluS' of seven.
Charles Liddle with wife, Barbara ,
and Bill and Dorry Chisholm took
third place with wo wins plus four.
Consolation prize on this draw went
to Doug Lackey, curling with

ern Ontario Pre-Novice Dance held at London, Ontario and were
Gold Medalists in Dance at the Ontario Winter Games held at
Thunder Bay, Ontario. They also danced at the Canada Winter
Games at Lethbridge, Alberta, held last week.

The writer was privileged to skip
a. rink of Clarence Pollock, Elmer
Courtney and Jim Elliott in the
annual Legion bOnspiel at Kincar-
dine on Saturday and took second
prize on the late draw with two
wins and a plus of twelire. Bob
Johnston had a rink in the .Sifto Salt
spiel in' Goderich the same, day --it
is not known how they made out at
this writing. •

Junior Women's
Institute .Meet
The Junior Women's Institute
meeting was opened by repeating
the Ode and the Mary Stewart
Collect. The minutes of the last
meeting were read by Nancy
Brown. Ten girls answered the roll
call which was suggestions for
future meetings.: June Alton gave:,
a summary of the Achievement Day
for knits which was held recently in
Ripley. Mary Nelson showed
different ideas she had for crafts.
Mrs. George Whitby, Miss
Robinson and Mrs. MacGillivray
4howed, a'quilt completed and
different patterns 'you could use to
make a quilt. The group decided
on a pattern and size and will be
starting one soon.
A lovely lunch of grilled cheese
sandwiches and hot chocolate was
served'.
The next meeting will be held on
March 25 at 8 p.m. in the town hall
and the topic will be the metric
system.
PINE RIVER
A fun filled evening of bowling
was enjoyed by .40 adults from Pine
River congregation on Thursday,
February 20. High lady was Gayle
Lowry bowling 225. High man was
Bob Rutledge 215. 'A lunch was
enjoyed in basement of the church.
The Orange Lodge,' Amberley,
held a euchre on Friday night,
February 21st, high prizes going to
Mrs. Glen Campbell and Chester
Campbell. Lucky, prize went to
Mrs. Dunc Thorbu•rn.
and Mrs. Wm. Pace were
dinner guests Sunday evening , with
Mrs. Reta Irwin in Ripley. .)

home of Bob Courtney's.
