From Huronview
The Clinton Kinette Club served
a Valentine Tea on Friday morning
in the north wing dining area for
the residents, of ground floor north
and centre.
The Goderich Township Wom-
en's Institute volunteers assisted
with Monday afternoon's. activities.
Music for the occasion was
provided by Molly Cox, Dora
Heard, Elsie Henderson, Norman
Speir, Jerry Collins, Philip Regier
and Morgan Dalton. Following the
program the ladies served tea and
cookies.
Twenty-two residents having
February birthdays were honoured,
at .a party on ,Wednesday afternoon
sponsored by the Goderich Wom-
en's Institute. Mrs. Mary Clare-
mont was MC for the program
which included , vocal solos by Mrs.
Muriel Harrison—and--Mrs, Warr;
instrumental numbers. by Mr. and
Mrs. Alan Schramm and a comedy
quartet Mary Claremont, Ethel
Johnston, Erma Anderson and
Jean Schramm. Gifts were
presented to the celebrantS and
lunch was served by the ladies..
MrS. Margaret McCartney, who
Celebrated her 93rd birthday on
February 22nd, thanked the Insti-
tute on behalf of the residents.
A musical group"The Star Trex",
of Varna, provided the program for
"Family Night". This group have
become very well known in
the last five, years. They feature
country and western music. Miss
Sharon Potter is soloist and joins
the Johnstone Brothers, Gary, Rex
and.Larry for some of the numbers.
Pat Thurlow thanked the enter-
tainers on• behalf of the residents.
The residents 'have been enjoy-
ing-the apples which were donated
by the HurOnview Auxiliary and the
Clinton L.O.B.A. They are put on
each' of the trays at suppertime.
Owing to the flu epidemic in the
.area,a_ restriction _of _visitors has
been necessary. We hope the ban
will soon .be lifted.

The.Holyrood 4-H club held their
second meeting on Friday at ,the
home of Mrs. Gerald Rhody. The
meeting opened with the pledge.
Mrs. Delbert Hedley showed how
to make basic white bread. Mrs.
Rhody told . about the different
things that can be made with the
basic white bread. The meeting
ended with the motto. The next
meeting will be held on March 1st
at Mrs. Rhody's home.
Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Sutton of
Teeswater visited, on Saturday
evening with Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Maulden and Keith.
Art Haldenby spent Friday night
at his home here, and returned to
London again on Saturday to be
with Mrs. Haldenby, who under-
went further surgery last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bennett Jr.
of Toronto were also here on Friday
night. Mrs. Haldenby's many
friends,wish her a good recovery.
Mrs. P. A. Murray returned
home from the Wingham and
District Hospital, where she was a
patient for a few days.
The World Day of Prayer will be
held March 7th in the Presbyterian
Church with Mrs. Ruth Wilson in .
charge.
On Sunday morning the 1st

leaders Mrs. , Ann Nicolson and
Mrs. Joan Barr and members of
their families attended the
Anglican Servic(e.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Page were in
Burlington on ,Saturday attending
the funeral of their friend Mrs.
Audrey Filman.
Mr. and Mrs. R. Cross, Michelle
and Lindell spent the week end in
Toronto.
Recent visitors with. Mr. and
Mrs. Bill MacPherson of Holyrood
were Mrs. Gordon MacPherson,
her daughters Betty Mae and
Marilyn and Mr. Ed Brown, all of
Stratford.
