Wilfred Drennan of Lucknow has
returned home from Wingham and
• District Hospital where he spent 21
days recuperating from a heart
attack.
Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Nixon and
girls of Stratford visited his. parents
Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Nixon of
Belfast.
Miss Liella Finlayson of Lucknow
returned last week end from a ten
.day visit in Toronto with her
nephew, Dr. and Mrs. Donald
Finlayson and her niece, Dr. and
Mrs. Edward Simmons. She also
visited with her nephew Dr. and •
'Mrs. William Finlayson and son
Andrew from Boston, Mass., who
were on a skiing holiday in Toronto
and Collingwood.
Miss Margaret Kelly of Lucan
visited over last week end with her'
sister Mrs. Wirt Hogan, Lucknow.
She was accompanied by Mrs.
James Kelly of Granton,
Spence Irwin, .Lucknow, entered
Victoria Hospital February 18 for
leg surgery. Spence had' previously
undergone surgery a year ago on
his, other leg to correct an arthritic
problem. •
"I just wouldn't be without it"
writes Margaret Griffin of Farm-
ington, Michigan in renewing her
Sentinel subscription. '
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Symes of
Lucknow, accompanied by Mr. and
Mrs. Colin Reid of Hamilton are
leaving Friday of this week for a
two week holiday in Florida.
A fathily gathering was held
Saturday, February 15th at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
Neable, R. R. 3 Lucknow; it being
Mrs. Neabel's 65th birthday,
where a lovely supper was enjoyed
by her family, following which they
enjoyed ski-dooing. PreSent were

Brian, Shawn, Danny of Caldeon;
Mr. and Mrs. Gene' Tunney, Ricky
and his girl-friend : Churlan of
Georgetown; Mr.. and, Mrs. Bob

The Holyrood Women's Institute
met on• Wednesday at the home of
Mrs. Frank. Maulden. Mrs. P.A.
Murray presided and the meeting
opened with 'the ode and the Mary
Stewart Collect.
Mrs. Lorne Eadie read the
minutes of the previous meeting
and gave the financial report.
Thank you notes were read 'from
folks who received Cheerio boxes at
Christmas. A donation was made
to the Save the Sight Fund. Mrs.
Gerald Rhody spoke about the 4-H
course and also the bread baking
course. ,
Judges for the tea biscuits were
Mrs. Don Bushell and. Mrs. Bill
Burt with prizes going to Mrs. Jack
Scott and Miss Edna Boyle.
Each member brought a surprise
package for the roll call, and Mrs.
Alex Percy acted as auctioneer for
the sale of these articles. Miss
Edna Boyle was program convener
and for the topic each member read
an article from the Home and
Country. Mrs. Frank Maulden
gave the motto, "A willing helper
doesn't wait to be asked".
Contests on ."Song Titles" and
"TV Personalities" and "Valentine
Words' followed.
The courtesy remarks were given
and the meeting, closed with 0
Canada and Grace. Lunch was
served by the hostess. The March
meeting Will be the Family Night
and it will be a pot luck supper in
the hail.

Youth Exchange
The International/ Youth Ex-
change Representative for Bruce
Presbytery of the United Church
was selected this past week.
The person chosen is Miss
Joanne Koeslag of Clifford, R. R. 3.
Miss Koeslag was selected from
among the eighteen nominees, of
the Pastoral Charges of Bruce •
Presbytery.
In her home community, Joanne,
during her teenage years, partici-
pated in the activities- connected
with Knox United Church, as well
as being a member of the 4.H club.
Miss Koeslag fs a 1971, Grade
13, graduate of Norwell District
Secondary School at Palmerston.
Since graduation she has"been
employed as a secre(tary in the
North Waterloo Farmers Mutual
Insurance Company office at Wat-
erloo.
During her free time, Joanne
uses her talents as a leader in the
2nd Waterloo Guide Company.
On week ends she is found at
home in Clifford putting her time'
and dedication to ,work as a Sunday
School teacher and a member of the
choir,
Miss Koeslag hopes to go to
Japan in August as a youth
exchange representative in this
50th anniversary year of the United
Church. Some 89 Canadian Church
young people,' 17 to 25 years of age,
will visit six overseas countries
while •their counterparts will visit
Canada in 1975 and 1976.
On Saturday, February 15; the
Bruce Presbytery International
Youth Exchange Group' was enter-
tained at the United Church Manse
hi the town of Arthur. A
smorgasbord meal at 6.00 p.m.
began the get-together. The
evening was meant ,as a time for
the members to get acquainted
with one another and to plan for
future meetings. The evening
concluded with a Hyrim,Sing and a
Worship Service.
Nominated from this area as
candidates for this honour were
from Lucknow, Elizabeth Ritchie;
Bervie, Marion Campbell 'and
Janice Brown; Tftswater, Lynne
Hill and Ron Sillick.
MURRAY - to Mr. and Mrs. James
Murray of R. R. 3 Holyrood on
Saturday, February 8th, 1975 in
Wingham and District Hospital, a
son.
