The Holyrood Women's Institute
held a euchre party in the hall on
Thursday evening. Six tables were
in 'play. The high lady was Mrs.
Violet MacKenzie; high gent,
Donald Murray. Mrs. Amelia
MacLeod won-the lucky draw and
Jack Scott got the travelling prize
for lone hands.
Friends of Mrs. Art Haldenby
are sorry to know that she was a
patient in the Wingham 'and
District Hospital during the past
week. Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Bennett of Toronto spent the week
end here and brought her home on
Sunday.
A family dinner was held at the
home of Mr. and• Mrs. Karl Boyle
at -London on Thursday. Thpse

Compressor problems continue
to plague the local club, as Howard
Hodge and Andy • Ritskes, with
assistance of various other mem-
bers try to keep the plant running.
The Executive, at a recent meeting,
has placed an order for a replace-
ment compressor whiCh, as is
customary with so many items
these days, is subject to uncertain
delivery.
Another successful. Sweetheart
bonspiel was concluded on Satur-
day with Howard and Marge
here.
Mr. and Mrs. N. E. Evans and
family of Erin visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Bert Nicholson and Lois.
Several in this area have been
confined to their homes with flu
and bad colds.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Scott were
dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Fair at Ripley on. Friday
evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Laird Mann and
family of Washago visited over the
week end with the Shaw families.
Week end visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Maulden and Keith
were Mr. and Mrs. Stan Wright of
Glen Orchard.
The Rev. R. W. Rhody and Mrs.
Rhody of Milton, Pennsylvania and
Mrs. William Rhody of Hanover
visited with Mr. and Mrs. Gerald
Rhody.
Mrs. Wm. MacPherson of Holy-
rood spent last week in Hamilton
visiting with her brother and his
wife Mr. and Mrs. Dean Wilson.
Coming' events are the local
Legion reunion and bonspiel this
coming Saturday - February 15th,
and 'the local Mixed bonspiel on
Saturday, February 22nd.

place. Third went to Charles and
Barbara Liddle, curling with Jean
and John Colling. The consolation •
was won by Harry and Ev Coiling,
aided by John and. Judy Van
Kooten.. Other entries were those
of Marjorie. MacTavish and Mabel
Barnard.
The winners of the later draw
were Don and Barbara Paquette,
-aided by Wray and Mae Osborne.
Second place was taken by Harry ,
Scott, Doris Johnston, Jack Scott
and Ursula Burnett. The third,
place winner was the rink skipped
by Bob Lyons, with Marie Colling,
Gordon and Eileen Emmerton.
Consolation prize, in this draw was
taken by Ronald Farrell, Diane and
Ron Brooks, and Diane Farrell.
