husband Gordon Stanley in 1955.
She was born in Huron Township
•-on August 15, 1887,• the, daughter
of Alexander Patterson- and Sarah
Ann' Mills. She predeceased by
two - sisters ,and seven brothers.
She was married to Gordon Stanley
June 16, 1914. They farmed on the
tenth concession of Huron ' until
1921 when they moved to Ripley
where Gord was 'in the Firm
Machinery Business `for many
years. Sadie has resided in Ripley
" since. that time.
Mrs. Stanley was very active in
Community Affairs. She was a'
member of St. Andrew's. United
Church, Ripley, .She was a willing
and tireless 'worker in the -United
Church Women and the convener
of the Church Flower Committee
for many years. She was a director
of ,the Ripley Agricultural. Society
for years and also convener of
the Lady Directors. She was a
member and officer-of the•Horticul-
tural Society and a member of the
Ripley Women's Institute. She'was
a charter member of Huron'S Star
Rebekah Lodge, Ripley, then on
amalgamation a member of Hilltop
Lodge, Bervie. A memorial- service
was held by Hilltop Lodge on
Sunday evening at the Funeral
Home:
She had a kindly, helpful nature
and was alWays willing to lend a
hand-in time of need. Her many
friends and , relatiyes • remember
many deeds of kindness that she
has done for them.
The funeral services were con-
ducted from the McLennan-
McCreath Funeral Home on Mon-
day, January 6 with Rev. Cecil
Carnochan officiating. The pall-
bearers were . nephews, ponald
MacKay, George MacKay, Arthur
Patterson, Gordon Patterson and
neighbours Ivan Cook and Nelson
Hodgins. Burial was in' Ripley
Cemetery.

Thomas visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Cecil Humphrey and Mark.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs.
Ken Farrell on •the arrival of their
baby girl.
Miss Margaret Courtney • of
Walkerton spent the week end with
Mr. and Mrs. Len 'Courtney and
family.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hutton of
London spent the week end with
Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Humphrey and
Mark.
MiSs Sandra MacCharles from,
Calgary visited for a week with Mr.
and Mrs. Howard Robb.
Pine River congregation held a
skating party on S-unday in Luck
now.
Rev. Robt. Putman's -sermon on
Sunday in Pine River Church was
"The Service of God and Man".
Friends wish Mrs. Murdoch
McDonald - and Gordon Boyd a
speedy recovery.
REIDS. CORNERS 4-H
The first meeting of Reids
Corners 4-H homemaking club was
held at the home of leader _Mrs.
Gary Courtney on Tuesday, Janu-
ary 28th. Election- of officers was
held followed by the requirements
for club members as well as an
outline for the record books. The
leader demonstrated how to make
freezer whole Wheat bread. 'The
members 'were given the roll call
for the next meeting and home
activities.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bennett of
Toronto visited' with her parents
Mr. and Mrs. Art Haldenby.
Miss Lois Nicholson returned
home after spending the past two °
weeks with Mr. and M.S. Ronald
Stanley's family at Kinloss, while
they enjoyed a winter holiday in
Florida.

visited with Mr. and Mrs. Jim

and May Boyle.
The Anglican and Presbyterian
churches here held their annual
meetings during the week.
The Anglican Church. Women
will meet on • Thursday afternoon
February 13th at -the home of Edna
and May' Boyle.
Elmer Limbach of Lucknow
visited on. Thursday evening with
Mr. and Mrs. Chris Shelton.
Mrs. Tom MacDonald visited
with her parents Mr. 'Ad Mrs.
Joseph Guest at Teeswater.

A DIVISION OF THE ONTARIO HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION
The Brownies opened their meet-
ing on Tuesday, January 28th with
Brownie Ring. Debbie Huffman
was Fairy Queen and the Brownies
hopped their brownie Gold. Tawny
Owl did inspection for a complete
uniform and a clean handkerchief.
,Brown Owl read a prayer "For
Gentleness".
At Pow Wow a discussion was
held on being kind to other people.
Helen Maclntyre showed a picture
she had made from seeds. Janice
vats room accommodation in hos-
pital. In.addition, EHC can be tailored
to meet the needs of any employee
group.
The Blue Cross Extended Health
Care Plan was carefully designed to

During work period Snowy Owl
had Tracey McDonagh and Janice
McInnes working at learning how
to get a parcel ready for mailing.
Tawny Owl watched while Luanne
McLeod and Rosemary Gil more
sewed on buttonS - and Helen
Maclntyre cleaned a pair of shoes.
Helen also passed her test for flag
of Canada. Packie had'the rest of
the Brownites playing two games of
ball and Sharon Struthers passed
her test for throwing and catching a
