Following a delicious pot luck
meal at noon of grebruary 2nd, a
large group of-iril eirested members
of St. Andrew's United Church met
for the annual meeting which was
in Charge of Rev. Cecil Carnochan
and Don McLay. A short In
Memoriam service was held for
deceased members - Mrs. Walter
Walden, Lennie Harrison, . Ray-
mond Mitchell, Herbert Ensign,
Neil McLennan, Donald Blue and
Mrs. Andrew Patterson.
It was suggested that a Sinking
Fund be started folr a new organ in
the future. The Keswick. Confer-
ence is in June and is highly
recommended. This is 50th
anniversary year and we should do
something special for others.
Walter Forster gave the Session
report, and thanked the elders for'
their support. Having elders, in
turn greet folks at the door had
proved a worthwhile project.
Don McLay gave the financial
report which showed that there was
a small balance after paying all
obligations including $3000 spent
on basement renovations, and
providing the Observer on the
Every Family Plan. A filing cabinet
had been purchased for the office
with funds in a special fund.
Mrs. Jas. Needham reported for
the U.C.W. Half of their mission-
ary giVingS support Live Love
projects and they also support
many projects in the church such as
youth work and renovations plus 3
children overseas. The Sunday
School had been able to pay their
way but had no secretary for a
time. Mrs. Francis Gemmell
reported for the choir and expres-
sed the thanks of all to, the choir
leader, Mrs; Wallace Pollock and
the organist, Mrs. Bob Harris.
$4,830 had been given to the
Mission and Service Fund but this
is below the suggested minimum.
The C.G.I.T. had 27 members
when they disbanded in but
no one had been found to act as
leader since then.
Mrs. Francis Boyle 'reported for
the Youth Group, who have met
about monthly at the Boyle home
with an average attendance of
around 35. They have organized .
for 1975. The Junior Choir sang for
kat . twice in Ripley, visited Pine
River and Wingham and are to go
to.CICNX for taping of a future Sing
Time program.

ing rental of church.
This was a fine meeting because
much pertinent, information was
available and people could exptireSs
their ?pinions, on the work of the
church. Three Bible Study groups
have been meeting regularly all
year and a fourth one has started. ,
These 'can be .a means of spiritual •
growth.
A church provides people with
ways to serve their Lord and
although it requires dedicated
service, is also a most satisfying
experience.
