each scored the hat, trick, "Courtney
Liddle scored twice and, Roger
Farrell and Rick Smith scored once.,
They go to Paisley Thursday
night, and will he at home to the'

Hockey Results
On February 1st in the first
game, the Canucks battled the
Seals, to a 4 to 2 win.
Richard Jurjens tallied a pair
With singles going to Wayne
McDonagh and Shawn Drennan for „
the. Canucks. Rob Henderson and
Mike Austin replied for the Seals.
In the second game' the Sabres
defeated the ,Kings 5 to 1. John
O'Keefe, Steven Frayne, Floyd
Courtney, David Atkinson and •
Eddie Husk scored for the Can-
ucks. Ken Ritchie notched the lone
goal for the Kings.
In the third game the Islanders
edged the Flyers to '2. Steve
Errington, Jim Foran and Pat Boyle
dented the twine for the islanders.
Eric Haldenby and Shane Hickey
replied for the Flyers.
The 'play-offs start March 15th.

past week end.
In Kincardine on January 31,
Lucknow was defeated 8-3.
Stewart Mann scored twice for
Lucknow and Murray Thompson
once. • Assists went to Kevin•
•• Murray, Ian Montgomery and John
Hamilton. 4
Lucknow turned the tables Sun-
day in their liorne arena, winning
3-2 over the• same team. Stewart
Mann, Jeff Taylor and Ian Mont
gomery were the marksmen with
Stewart and Ian each picking up an
assist along with Cam Cook:

Defence was the name. of the
game Friday night in Lucknow. Art
Statiley started' it off by hammering
one of • Fergus' key offensive
players with a tremendous body-
check. Ken TiouSton consistently
broke up Fergus socring plays.
Tom „Hill had their whole team
keeping their heads up and even
then setting them' down gently on
the • ice. Paul Frayne played his
usual "pUck control" game which
is so important in your-own end. and
in setting up 'plays.
With only 2 minutes left in the
1st period, John Emberlin, assisted
by Paul Frayne, tied the game at
1-1. In the middle of the 2nd Jim
Murray from Dave MacKinnon put
Lucknow ahead to. stay. Fergus
continually threatened for the tying
goat but Bob O'Donahue turned
them aside until in the 3rd Jim
Murray again7 from MacKinnon
gave Lucknow the insurance goal.
This was the the turning point and
near the end Jim Murray got the
hat trick assisted by Stanley and
Frayne and John Emberlin from
Murray ended the scoring,
Thus. finally it was 5-1 and the
Lucknow fans were treated to a
great hockey game. The team has
now earned their support and fully
appreciate it.
Three. More Wins
For The
Undefeated Fleas
Lucknow's Flea hockey club
continued their undefeated rceord
With three wins in a' busy schedule
during the past week. .
Probably the best performance to
date was last Thursday night in'
Ripley. Final score of this , game
was Lucknow 4, Ripley 1. Grant'
Murray picked Up the hat' trick and
Lawrence Clark scored the other.
Saturday night LucknoW edged
out Teeswater 3-2 in the local
arena. Paul Jerome played a
steady game in goal and held off
the Teeswater attack. Lynn
Murray, unassisted; Donnie Peter-
son assisted by Jamie Bere; and
Lawrence.Clark, assisted by Grant.
Murray completed the scoring for
Lucknow.
Sunday afternoon it was off to
Tiverton.' Final, score Lucknow 1,
Tiverton 0. Donnie Peterson
scored .the 'goal.
Wednesdayllight of this week
the team travels to Belgrave.

Playoff time has arrived for
'hockey teams in the Western
Ontario 'Athletic Association.
Lucknow Bantams are presently
playing a best two out of three
Series with Teeswater and what an
exciting series it has 'turned out to
be. In the first 'game in Lucknow
last Tuesday night,' the Teeswiter
boys flashed the light four times to
,the
two. Three fast goals in
'second .period made the score
4-1 ,for Teeswater. Lucknow kept
pressing and managed' one more
goal late in the second period. .
Scoring for Lucknow , were . Mark
Frayne and Grant Gilchrist. Ilm.
Van Osch assisted on Mark's goal. .
Grant's goal was unassisted.
Friday night in the Teeswater •
arena, if was playoff hoCkey at its
best. Lucknow, putting forth a
tremendous team effort, outscored
Teeswater 2-1. Teeswater opened
the scoring at the midway mark of
the first period. , Lucknow's net-
minder Fred Howald then said,
"that's all boys". From then .on
Lucknow played their best hockey;•
of the year. Mark Frayne, playing
a superb game, scored in the
second period to tie the game. The
third period was a real. thriller. At
the midway mark of the period
Paddy Murray scored on , an
excellent play. The assist on the
goal went to Ron Johnson.
From the middle of the period
on, Lucknow stopped the Teeswat-
er powerhouse time after time and
ended the game holding off six
attackers, as Teeswater pulled
their goaltender.
Third game in the series was
scheduled for Tuesday night in'
Lucknow. The team;, coach and
manager are very appreciative of
the fan support in both games.

After the two big wins against
Fergus; Lucknow let doWn. With
two drawn out periods of hockey
gone, Milverton led LucknOw 3-0.
HoWever, to be considered a
good hockey team, you must have
the ability to bounce back.
Lucknow did, with Jim Murray
scoring unassisted in the 3rd
followed by John Emberlin from
MacKinnon and Stanley and again
John Emberlin 'from Stanley and
Frayne. Dave MacKinnon put
Lucknow ahead 4-3 from Murray
and Emberlin only to have Milver-
ton tie it up.
Art Stanley, with a great shot
from inside the blueline, scored the
winning goal to make it 5-4.
MacKinnon from Stanley and Em-
berlin unassisted put the "icing on
the cake" to make it a 7-4 final
score.l Al
