During the past week Western
Ontario has experienced steady
winter weather with, snow falling
every day in .. the area here
described as'the "lee of the lake".
On Thursday •the .,snow flurries
were so heavy at times that the
visibility for cars and trucks on the
roads was zero. Huron TownshiP
road Superintendent Dave Moore
reported •that it took him three
quarters of an hour to, get to his

hour, driving her car with Zero
visibility' at times, Mrs. Mary
Rudder, coming by Pine River took
55 minutes to come from Kincard-

afternoon there were a couple of
clear spells. Miss • Noreen Mac-
Donald struck one of these in
coming to Ripley from Kiocardine
hospital as also did Alex Macintosh
in travelling home to • Lucknow from
the Ripley Chopping Mill. School'
bus drivers took, the students home
earlier in the afternoon as principal

dismissed clas'ses. Winter weather
is unpredictable so that ' often the
forecasts do not turn out as stated.

trees for winter shelterbelts could
be seen this past week.
