Would include 43 units.
,In approving the sub-divisions;
the, planning board' tossed the ball
to Ripley council --ftill —and-
irantediate development ' of both
areas could push the village's
population past the 800 figure
projected in the Ripley official plan,.
Ripley's present population is
520 arid planning director' Malcolm
Campbell recommended that the
two sub-divisions 'be approved only
in part. The . two areas have a
population potential of 294, the
planner said.
A 254init Senior. citizens home
also will be built in 1975 and a
William. Street development of 1,7
unit's is PrObable. The village has
56 potential building 'lots as well,
although Ripley Reeve Clayton
Nicholson said most of these'eannot
'be• built on because, of legal and
other complications.
Proximity to Ontario Hydro's
construction ,project at Douglas .
Point will spur growth in Ripley, it
it is predicted.
Warden' J. P. Johnstone asked if
Kincardine is, happy with plans for
a subdivision in Huron Township,
just south of the .town. Planning ,
chairman' Vernon Enike of Chesley
said KinCardine has asked the
developer to pay the town $650_,000
to provide services. itt

Mrs. Anderson, formerly of Bel--
grave, is the former Elizabeth
Rutherford of St. 'Helens, Mrs.
Bryce Elliott of Lucknov., is a
daughter.

Robert MacDonald of Lucknow
passed away in Pinecrest Nursini
Home on Tuesday, January it
after a lengthy illness. He was it
his 74th year.
Bob, as he was known. was boa
in tEngland on September 25,1901
He came to Canada as a young boy
and resided with Mr. and Mrs
James Ross, Where he had a re
Christian hOme and was loved
their own. He lived most of his
in the Holyrood area.
In 1932 he married Cora Turnla
of Bruce Township, who survin
him. Also :surviving are one
and three daughters Kenneth
Kincardine, Florence (Mrs. Alft
Martin) of. Listowel, Mary
(Mrs. James Brown) of Burling
Peggy (Mrs. Wm. Kolenbrandet
of Willowdale; also seven grail
children. He was sadly bete
by one son Jack in 1 0 54,
