farthing, for the farmer is always
saying after a po.or crop,11'well -next
year has to be better", Some even
say that to be a farmer you have to
have charity as well, for who else
would give so much for solittle..
Did You know ithat Canada's trade
balance is as big as the farm
exports,' lies, that's tnit. We
export about $750 million of farm
Products and our faveurahle •lrade
balance is about itite •same, I am"
proud to say that We, , being 'only
five percent .of the population,
peke it" poSsible for, 'the other
ninety-five percent to have the 'high
standard of living ' We enjoy. A
,good- deal of the credit for the
efficiency of the Canadian farmer
goes to the research work done at
the various 'levels of government,
and .to the ektension specialists
from the ministries of agriculture
and food, under the guidance of the.
Agricultural Representatives.'
Credit shouild go to the farmer for
utilizing the adYice he receives so
well.
While the land is resting, many_
farmers will go to courses provided,
by those specialists, to be even
more efficient than they are
already.

With Adrian Vos
When you read 'this column',
will be the year of our Lord 1975
and with all the concerns I hay"
expressed in this past yeart, we are
all gratefuL that -we were able to,
provide for so many the food that is
needed to help Iceeitts all healthy.
pa ' Our fond hope is, that we may
continue to do se for a long, time.
We hope that society in this new
year will Come to their senses, and
help is to conserve land that is so
sorely Tieetlell in the future, not
only, to feed t *risejvho are starving
now, but also to feed our own,
country, when the population in-
creases' to the level ,that is
predicted for the next, twenty-five
years, We wish for an end to the
troubled economic times and for an
end to the crop disasters that
plagued this world in the last year;
I wish us all working together to
make this a better world tolive in,
with Faith, Hope and Charity.
We as farmers have faith and
hope, 'or else we wouldn't be
