Obituaries LORNE ROBERT BRYANS Bom in Brussels May 21, 1924, a son of the late Harvey (1974) and Alma (McKelvie) Bryans (1960), Lome Robert Bryans passed away from ALS (Lou Gerhrig’s) at Hotel Dieu Hospital, Windsor on Nov. 25, 2000. He was the loving husband of 57 years to Anne (McCutcheon). He was the beloved father to Patricia Fleming and Ernie Reid of Lakeshore, Carrol and husband Bob Fowler of Windsor and Loma and husband Ezio Tintinalli of Belle River. He was the loving grandfather of Dean Cameron and wife Sandy, Darrill Cameron and wife Kathy, L.R. Kyle and Bradley Fowler, all of Windsor and Robyn Craig and hus band Rob of McGregor. He was great-grandfather of Amanda, Dale, Mackenzie, Morgan, and Jackson. Mr. Bryans was the dearest brother of Phyllis and Bill Fischer of Preston and Myna Howard of Listowel. He was the dear brother-in-law of Frank and Betty McCutcheon, George and the late Barbara McCutcheon (1997), Jack and Esther McCutcheon, Melvin McCutcheon, all of Brussels, Berva and the late John Rice (1998) of Cambridge, Bob and Janette of Vancouver B.C., Margaret and Bemell Smith of Listowel, and Mary McCutcheon of Welland. He was predeceased by sister Marguerite Stretton (1999), Dr. Russell Bryans (1972), brothers-in- law Herb Stretton (1996) and John Howard (1977), father-in-law Harry (1946) and mother-in-law Hanna (Ward) McCutcheon (1991), broth er-in-law Lome and Bill (1953) and Fred McCutcheon (1980). Lome was founder and operator of Bryans Transport, now Brussels Transport, until his move to Windsor in 1962. He was a 50-year-member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Friends called at the Anderson Funeral Home in Windsor on Nov. 27 and the service was from St. John’s Anglican Church in Brussels on Nov. 28 with Rev. Nancy Beale officiating. Interment will be at St. John’s Anglican Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons Dean and Darrill Cameron, Bradley and Kyle Fowler, nephew Blaine McCutcheon and granddaughter’s husband Rob Craig. What though the radiance which was once so bright be now forever taken from our sight, though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower, we will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind. — William Wordsworth. N. KEITH DEMARAY N. Keith Demaray of Thamesford (and formerly of Gladstone) passed away suddenly at London Health Sciences Centre, University Campus, London, on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000. He was in his 63rd year. Mr. Demaray was the beloved hus band of Shirley V. (Kinzett) Demaray. He was the dear father of Todd of London and Clint of Powell River, British Columbia. He was the loving grandfather of Eric and Ron and brother of Bob Demaray and his wife Willa of Dorchester and Max Demaray and his wife Kae of Wroxeter. Mr. Demaray is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends were received at the Bieman Funeral Home, 3970 Hamilton Rd., Dorchester, Monday where the funeral service was con ducted on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m. Rev. Lonnie Atkinson officiat ed. Cremation has taken place. Interment of cremated remains will be in Dorchester Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Family and friends were invited to attend a Masonic service under the auspices of Merrill Lodge #344, Dorchester in the funeral home Monday evening at 7 p.m. Dunbar remains on county library bd. Two local people have been appointed as non-elected members to the Huron County library board. Former Grey Twp. Reeve Robin Dunbar, who has served a three year term on the board, and been chair, as well as Blyth resident Carol McDonnell were named at the inau gural meeting of county council last week. The committee consists of five non-elected, five elected and the warden. The other non-elected mem bers are from Holmesville, Exeter and Usbome.
