(Vicky Bremnerphoto) Choir performs ‘’Messiah'' Handel’s Messiah, the most beloved choral work in the English speaking world, will be presented on Dec. 15 and 16 at The Centre In The Square, Kitchener. The Menno Singers and The Mennonite Mass Choir perform together only every three years and this will be their eighth performance of the Messiah. The 250-voice choir is drawn from numerous church communities in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, and will be conducted by Peter Nikoforuk. You don’t have to participate and you can still bring something for potluck and enjoy supper. Saturday afternoon euchre saw 10 tables at play. The first place winners were Marie Stewart and Ilene Sellers. The second place winners were Joan and partner Edith. Coming in for third place were partners Charlie and Ila. The ladies’ lone hand winner was Isabel and men’s winner was Carmen. This is the last euchre for 2000 and Leona and Marg wish you all Merry Christmas and will see you in January. Our Zone Commander is visiting on Dec. 18 and all members are invited to attend at 8 p.m. If you have a uniform please wear it and if you don’t please still attend. Our early bird draw winner was Howard Hackwell. If you’re coming to pay your dues now it will be $40. Let’s see if we can get the majority paid by Jan. 1. The singles, dance crowd enjoyed the Country Ways and had a great night. This is also the last for 2000. Christmas draws will be on Dec. 23 and we hope to see everyone.
