(Vicky Bremner photo) At the Branch Santa visits at Legion By Jo-Ann McDonald Well, we are into December and Christmas is just around the comer. Santa was a special visitor at the Branch on Saturday afternoon fol lowing the parade. The children filed past him, had a visit and received a treat bag. A good day for everyone I’m sure. Saturday afternoon also saw the Branch hosting the Ladies’ Bluewater darts. A good bunch enjoyed their day of darting. Saturday was also when a team represented-Brussels Branch of Zone Curling in Wingham. Placing second and qualifying to advance to District in Fergus were Rick McDonald and Dave Linton. Saturday was also Zone sponsored PeeWee Tournament in Lucknow. Brussels Branch sponsored our Brussels PeeWees and they played very well. They defeated Blyth 5-1 in their first game and defeated the Clinton team 5-4 in overtime in game two. The wins advanced them into the finals against Ripley and they played a good game but were defeated 2-0. Congratulations to the boys and their coaches for an excellent job representing Brussels and Branch 218. Lloyd and Mabel Glanville attend ed a Veteran’s Services Seminar in Stratford on Saturday and had a real ly interesting day. The usual meat draws on Saturdays and New Year’s Eve tick ets are available at the Branch. During this holiday season we hope you will drop in and we will see you at the Branch. CLEAN HOUSE!
