On Tuesday, fed steers and heifers sold on a very strong active trade while cows sold steady. On Thursday, veal sold on a strong trade steady to last week. Lambs sold $4 to $5 higher with new crop Iambs sell­ ing up to $270. On Friday, all weights of Stockers sold on a steady market. There were 550 steers on offer selling from $100 to $106 with sales to $117.25. Doug Shiell, Wingham, consigned one limousin steer weigh­ ing 1,410 lbs. selling to Norwich Packers for $117.75. His overa 1 offering of twenty steers averaging 1,488 lbs. sold for an average of $104.07. Seven limousin steers con­ signed by Robert S. Gowland, Formosa, averaging 1,219 lbs. sold for $112.75 with his overall offering of ten steers averaging 1,215 lbs. selling for an average of $110.31. Five limousin steers consigned by Doug Walker, Belgrave, averaging 1,394 lbs. sold for an average of $106.30 with sales to $111.75. Murray Wagg, Mitchell, consigned twenty-two steers averaging 1,256 lbs. selling for an average of $ 106.11 with sales up to $108.50. One limou­ sin steer consigned by Cornerstone Farms, Kenilworth, weighing 1,450 lbs. sold to Norwich Packers for $108.50. Their overall offering of four steers averaging 1,398 lbs. sold for an average of $105.34. Amsey M. Bauman, Dobbinton, consigned twenty-eight steers aver­ aging 1,468 lbs. selling for an aver­ age of $102.14 with sales reaching $112.50. Nineteen steers consigned by Bill Scott, Harriston, averaged 1,133 lbs. selling for an average of $99.71 with sales to $107.25. Bruce Bros., Belgrave, consigned twelve steers averaging 1,612 lbs. selling for ar; average of $101.52 with sales reaching $106.75. Cleason M. Bauman, Holy rood, consigned one simmental steer weighing 1,140 lbs. sold for $107 to Dominion Meats. His overall offer­ ing of two steers averaging 1,308 lbs. sold for an average of $101.08. One black steer consigned by Stan Francis, Kirkton, weighing 1,380 lbs. sold to Holly Park Meat Packers for $109. His overall offering of forty-three steers averaged 1,477 lbs. sold for an average of $100.62. There were 323 heifers on offer selling from $100 to $106 with sales to $109.50. One limousin heifer con­ signed by Ephriam Hoover, Wroxeter, weighing 1,080 lbs. sold to Dominion Meats for $109.50. His overall offering of eight heifers aver­ aged 1,128 lbs. and sold for an aver­ age of $105.97. Andy Vander Veen, Blyth, consigned one charolais heifer, weighing 1,010 lbs. selling to Highland Packers Ltd. for $108. His overall offering of fifteen heifers averaged 1,251 lbs. and sold for an average of $105.32. Six heifers consigned by Menno Hoover, Bluevale, averaged 1,194 lbs. selling for an average of $105 with sales to $107.50. Gordon Yeo, Clinton, consigned twelve heifers averaging 1,178 lbs. selling for an average of $104.60 with sales to $107. Jim and Les Stephenson, Ethel, consigned two heifers averag­ ing 1,185 lbs. selling for an average of $103.78 with sales to $105.50. One charolais heifer consigned by Andrew Mitchell, Listowel, weigh­ ing 1,395 lbs. sold to Norwich Packers for $106.25. His overall offering of eight heifers averaging 1,293 lbs. sold for an average of $103.26. Ronald Menary, Lucknow, consigned six heifers averaging 1,266 lbs. selling for an average of $103.22 with sales to $107.50. One black heifer consigned by Johnston Farms, Bluevale, weighing 1,195 lbs. sold to Highland Packers Ltd. for $106.50. Their overall offer­ ing of forty-nine heifers averaged 1,260 lbs. and sold for an average of $102.74. Karl Terpstra, Mitchell, consigned ten heifers averaging 1,288 lbs. sell­ ing for an average of $102.57 with sales to $105.75. Nine heifers con­ signed by Edward Martin, Holyrood, averaging 1,316 lbs. sold for an aver­ age of $100.65 with sales to $107.25. There were 400 cows on offer. DI and D2 cows sold $60 to $65 with sales to $80; D3, $55 to $60; D4, $45 to $55. One holstein cow consigned by Gerard Hendrick, Seaforth, weighing 1,575 lbs. sold for $80. Brenda Woods, Auburn, consigned one black cow weighing 1,520 lbs. which sold for $73. One gold cow consigned by Gary Platter, Duntroon, weighing 1,140 lbs. sold for $72.50. There were 24 bulls on offer sell­ ing from $58.50 to $68.50 with sales to $78.50. Bill Horst, Listowel, con­ signed one red bull weighing 1,865 lbs. which sold for $78.50. One gold bull consigned by Dale and Helen Orr, Kincardine, weighing 1,590 lbs. sold for $77. There were 209 head of veal on offer. Beef sold $110 to $159.50; Holstein, $110 to $125; Plain Holstein, $95 to $110. Don Eadie, Wingham, consigned one simmental veal heifer weighing 680 lbs. selling for $156. One charolais veal steer consigned by Albert Hessels, weigh­ ing 680 lbs. sold for $143. The top holstein veal steer was consigned by George Vanderveen, Lucknow, weighing 685 lbs. selling for $125. Lambs, under 50 lbs. sold to $175; 50- 64 lbs., $147 to $270; 65 - 79 lbs., $133 to $207; 80 - 94 lbs., $129 to $187; 95-110 lbs., $130 to $159. Goats sold $30 to $180. Sheep sold $52 to $97.
