The next four weeks are part of our Christian tradition, a time of hope, peace, joy and love. The weather on Saturday made Santa feel so good, as he watched the crowd enjoy the parade. We are so lucky to have so many community- minded folk that each year make us proud of our parade. The light deco rations and the tree at the medical centre look good too. Thank you. The Catholic ladies report a good bazaar Nov. 25. Tickets sold prior to the event went well and now Michelle Terpstra has a new collec tor doll. Reta Ross won a variety meat pack, Olene Dennis is the pleased owner of a $75 Teeft certifi cate. Emma Franken has a new Christmas decoration and Andrew Fear won a new calendar holder. During the bazaar several draws were made and after winning three gifts I think Pat Nolan went home so others had a chance to win the good ies available. The financial gain will be used to do mission work in com munity and afar. Laura, daughter of Bill and Pauline Hetherington, namesake of Laura Smith of Braemar was married to Norm Miller on Saturday at the Scottish Rite in Hamilton. Relatives Cora and Ross Alcock, Joe and Linda Smith, Alma Hetherington, Chris and Lara Graber and Ralph and I attended the non-traditional service. The history of the wedding cele bration was a big part of the ceremo ny and very interesting; as was see ing inside the Scottish Rite - a sig nificant building to the Masons, an important part of my Dad’s life. The other bonus for me was hav ing my four brothers and their part ners together in one place from Edmonton, Hallville, Brantford and Hamilton. Yipee! The public school invites you to their concert next Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. If you can’t make that - come and enjoy the dress rehearsal Dec. 12 at 9:30 a.m. Catch the spirit. Bye now, Betty G.W. Over 100 residents and guests partook of all the tradi tional goodies associated with Christmas. We were entertained by Don and Alice Andrews of Clinton and Richard and Esther Rose of Mitchell who sang carols. All in all an event to remember. The Howick Squared danced up a storm. Believe me no" one went to sleep. Egbert Jacobs of Millbank is their excellent caller. On Saturday, Dec. 2 the Auxiliary had its craft fair. The weather was perfect and we had a large crowd of eager gift seekers. This is still very early in December and we have many Christmas pro grams planned so stay tuned. Welcomes you and yours!
