PAGE 22. THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 2000. Obituaries CAROLYN ANNA MAUD (HEAD) BEATTIE Mrs. Carolyn Beattie of Wingham passed away on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000. She was 69. The former Carolyn Head was the beloved wife of James Beattie. She was the dear mother of Michael and Dawn Beattie of Windsor, Cheryl and Blaine Pryce of Dashwood and Maureen and James Kerr of Grand Rapids Michigan. She was the lov ing grandmother of Braden, Remira, Jocelyn and Maxwell and sister of Edward and Shirley Head, Shirley Cheshire and Dorothy Sweatland. Mrs. Beattie was predeceased by her parents Howard and Etta (Simpson) Head and her brother James Head. Visitation was at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Wednesday from 3:30 - 5:30 and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Trinity Anglican Church, Wingham on Thursday at 1 p.m. Rev. Nancy Beale and Rev. Len Myers are officiating. Interment will be in Wingham Cemetery, Tumberry Twp. Memorial services will be held at the Church of the Ascension, Windsor on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. Memorial donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy, www.lega- cy.com Cranbrook woman marks 90th Milestone Friends, neighbours and family came out on Saturday to help Thelma Cotton of Cranbrook celebrate her 90th birth day with an open house at the Cranbrook Hall. (Vicky Bremner photo) It was a special day on Saturday, Nov. 25 for Thelma Cotton of Cranbrook when she was the guest of honour for a 90th birthday cele bration at Cranbrook Hall. Born Dec. 24, 1910 in Barrie, Mrs. Cotton was the daughter of Thomas and Eliza Carter. She attended the Fourth Line, Mona Twp. and Violet Hill Schools. In January of 1960, she married Donald Cotton. Together they raised three children, Earl, Garnet and Angus.
