at Knox United
FROM BELGRAVE
Grace and Charlie Procter greeted
worshippers at Knox United Church
on Sunday, Nov. 19. Freda Johnston
at the piano accompanied the con
gregation for hymn-sing.
Rev. Ethel Miner Clare welcomed
the congregation. The Call to
Worship was read responsively and
the Prayer of Approach in unison.
The Sunshine Singers performed
Children of the Great King and
Rejoice the Lord directed by Lila
Procter and accompanied by pianist
Dorothy Coultes.
Donna Raynard and Amy Barnes
looked after the nursery.
For children’s time Rev. Miner
Clare showed different pictures of
corn including corn on the cob and
popcorn.
The responsive reading was from
Samuel 2: 1-10. Hannah prayed and
said, “My heart exults in the Lord;
my strength is exalted in my God.
My mouth decides my enemies,
because I rejoice in my victory.”
The Old Testament reading was
Samuel 1: 4-20 and the Epistle read
ing was Hebrews 10: 11-14. 19-25.
The Gospel lesson was Mark 13: 1-
8.
The meditation was based on
Hannah.
Stephen Nixon and John Dorsch
took up the offering. Following the
service lunch a time of fellowship
followed in the basement.
A big thank you goes out to the
board of stewards and all those who
helped with the Annual Beef Supper.
