Mr. Lee top choice
for dress-up day
By Adel Dodds and Kristen
McArter
The East Wawanosh students’
council sponsored a school spirit day
with the object of the day was for the
students to dress up as their favourite
teacher.
These are the different winners in
the different grades: Grade 1, Bonnie
Nethery and Sean Golley; Grade 2,
Brittany Weber; Grade 3, Greg
Dodds; Grade 4, Adel Dodds; Grade
5/6, J.D. Shiell.
Mr. Lee seemed to be the most
popular person to dress up as.
The School Advisory Council met
on Wednesday, Nov. 15 in the
library. A report was given that the
recent magazine and gift campaign
had been highly successful with over
$5,000 being raised. So far, SAC has
contributed $1,000 toward the pur
chase of materials for both the
French and Grade 1 science pro
grammes, a book taping machine for
the library and the upgrade of the
Grade 1 computer.
Currently, school-crested clothing
is on sale until Dec. 1.

As of Monday, Nov. 20 the first-
term report cards have gone home.
As most parents know the marking
system is in levels, level four as the
highest and level one as the lowest,
so don’t worry if you saw a level
three because that is the provincial
average and a level four is a very
hard mark to achieve.
The students have worked very
hard this term and the school is very
proud of each and every one of the
stirdents.
Parent Teacher interviews will be
held on Thursday, Nov. 23 after
school hours and again on Friday,
Nov. 24 all day which means the stu
dents get a PA Day.

At the Branch
Good week enjoyed at Legion
By Jo-Ann McDonald
There has been lots going on at the
Brussels Legion Branch this past
week. The Auxiliary Ladies served
the lunch following the funeral of
comrade Ross Duncan on Monday
afternoon. The ladies will be busy
with banquets for the next little while
and can always use an extra hand or
two. Give Helen Dobson a call. I’m
sure she would appreciate the extrd
help.
Thursday night is mixed darts just
for fun and a good bunch has come
out to play. They can still use more
and you don’t have to be a member
so drop in and see.
Friday Comrades Glenn and Jean
Bridge and Comrade Bush Whittard
and friend Audrey went to see A
Celebration of Heroes. They trav
elled by bus to Camp Borden for the
show paying tribute to ail Canadian
