I was wondering if I could get a service done on my truck.” This is just one of the many things that Joe Kerr’s does. My name is Vincent Bauer and I am a Grade 12 student at F. E. Madill Secondary School where I am cur rently enrolled in a co-operative edu cation program. My co-op placement is at Joe Kerr’s in Wingham. Joe Kerr’s is a business that fixes trucks and trailers. They are also the ones who try to keep the roads clear of snow in the winter time. To start the day, I take out the garbage and sweep the floor. I also get whatever tools they need. Since 1 have been working there I have changed tires and cleaned up the equipment. I have even greased a trailer and a truck so that the people who work for these companies can come and pick up their vehicles. I have also observed how they change springs on a lift axle truck and other trucks which is interesting to me. So far my co-op is very interesting and educational. I have learned a lot in the short time that I have been working there. I feel very strongly that this is the field I would like to follow through in the near future. The co-op program is an excellent course that I would recommend to students to think about taking, because you really learn more about the job you want in the future. Give Someone a Second Chance. It's amazing to see the different ways of communication throughout the classroom. There is communica tion through the use of pictures and also sign language. I’m even picking up some of the signs. I think that co-operative education is a great program. You get a taste of possible career choices and plenty of experiences. Thank You for your support Ward 2 East Wawanosh James Campbell By Katie Clark Organized. This is one of the key things that you have to be when working in a special needs classroom. Every day in Mrs. Train’s class, at Wingham Public School, all of the teachers and educational assis tants must follow a day plan, so that everything goes perfectly ... well almost perfectly. My name is Katie Clark. I am cur rently in Grade 12 at F. E. Madill Secondary School. I started my co-operative educa tion placement in September and I already have gained so many good experiences! One thing I must say is that every day in the classroom is different. This is great! At my placement I get to work one-on-one with the children in many different activities. Whether it be hand-over-hand learning, out-of school experiences or even just play ing with the children at recess, we ( yc} WARD & UPTIGROVE. ll~ P.O.
