PAGE 15. 7 tables at euchre, 10 at shoot FROM BELGRAVE There were seven tables of euchre in play at the Belgrave Women’s Institute on Wednesday, Nov. 8. Prizes went to: high lady, Mabel Wheeler; second high lady, Jane Grasby; lone hands, Lenore Glenn; low lady, Mary Taylor; high man, Alf Nichol; second high man, Jack Taylor; lone hands, Lloyd Appleby; low man, Ken Spears. There were 10 tables of shoot in play at the Community Centre on Friday, Nov. 10. Winners were: high lady, Janet Mathers; second high lady, Helen Casemore; most shoots, Norma Moore; low, Ivy Cloakey; high man, Merv Snyder; second high, ATf Nichol; most shoots, Jim Coultes; low, George Michie. The next shoot is Friday, Nov. 24 at l :30 p.m. There were 11 tables of euchre in play at the Women’s Institute Hall on Wednesday, Nov. 15. The next euchre is Wednesday, Mabel’s Moms met at their regular time on Wednesday, Nov. 15. Those who attended were Miranda Bieman and Morgan; Sandra Weber, Owen and Brock, Donna Raynard, Heidi, Curtis and Craig. Their topic was “Getting Acquainted”. The next meeting will be Dec. 6 a. the regular time. Mabel’s Moms met at their regular time on Wednesday, Nov. 8. Those who attended were: Crystal Agombar, Nicholas and Curtis Weber; Kim Higgins, Ashley, Shelby and Jarrod Logan; Donna Raynard, Heidi, Curtis and Craig. Their topic was toilet training. New Sparks enrolled, Nov. 9 1 HEALTH ON THE HILLJThe new Belgrave Sparks were enrolled on Nov. 9. Guider, Mary Ellen Foran read the names from the Sparks Belonging Book and the new Sparks added their names to the Belonging Tree. The new Sparks are Gabriel Carter, Rebecca Guy, Laura Higgins, Mary Kate Higgins, Laura MacPherson, Jillian Montgomery, Heidi Raynard, Peyton Scott and Sarah Young. Guider Doreen Thompson gave danced-around the Belonging Tree. hosts WMS held in memory of Hazel Dalrymple. Rev. Cathrine Campbell told of shoeboxes being packed to send to underprivileged parts of the world and asked the members if they would help. And finally, to all of you - the voters of Huron East - a special thanks. The next 3 years will offer us some serious challenges. There will be many difficult decisions to be made. But we can do it. LinSteffler A Review of activities at SEAFORTH COMMUNITY HOSPITAL COMMUNITY “FLU” VACCINE CLINICS Clinics will be held at Northside United Church basement (Goderich St. West, Seaforth) on the following days: Tues. Nov. 21, 11 am - 7 pm, Wed. Nov. 22, 11 am - 7 pm, Thurs. Nov. 23, 11 am - 7 pm. No appointment is necessary. Clinics will be pmvided on a first come first served basis. Please wear a short sleeved top and bring your yellow Immunization Record. There is no charge for this Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care initiative. TREE OF LIGHTS “A Celebration of Sharing” let the spirit of Christmas shine by giving a Gift of Light. Once again the Seaforth Hospital Auxiliary arc sponsoring this fundraiser, this year with proceeds toward the purchase of a lift weight scale and hip chair for patients convalescing post hip surgery. Mark your calendars now and plan to attend the “lighting of the blue spruce Christmas Tree” Sunday, November 26th at 6:30 p.m. (lighting ceremony @ 7 p.m.) on the grounds of the Seaforth Community Hospital. There will be Christmas entertainment, hot mulled cider & homemade cookies with a free draw on a camera. Tickets as a “Gift To” or, “In Memory Of” are available at the Hospital Switchboard or from Auxiliary members at the cost of $5.00 each. APPRECIATION is extended to Seaforth Hospital Auxiliary and Student Volunteers for once again adorning the hallways of our Hospital with a festive atmosphere for the upcoming Christmas season. Also to Sheila Feeney, RPN for the creative photographic wreath. Next time you are in the Hospital visiting, take a moment to meet our Staff. PRE-ADMIT CLINICS Seaforth Community Hospital will be providing satellite Pre-Admit Clinics for residents of Seaforth and surrounding areas who will be seen at Stratford General Hospital lor general, orthopedic and gynecological surgical procedures. Appointments will be arranged by either the physician’s office or the patient once O.R. time is scheduled. These clinics will be offered every two weeks. Pre admission data will be collected at SCH then transferred so information is available when individual presents at Stratford General Hospital. This service will eliminate the need for patients to drive to Stratford for work-ups prior to procedures.
