With Joan Tuchlinksy being away Steve Hildebrand from Seaforth was the guest speaker. In the announcements he said that if anyone has Christmas decorations to donate do so by Dec. 3. Dec. 2 is the Santa Claus parade in Brussels. Dec. 3 is White Gift Sunday. FROM WALTON Donations of food, toys and other gifts will be gratefully accepted and will go to the Christmas Bureau in Seaforth. The gifts will go to those who need a little helping hand in the area. Dec. 3 will also be family Advent night from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It will be a potluck with everyone bringing their own plates and uten sils, thus avoiding all the cleanup that usually goes with suppers. It will be a chance for adults to meet the children and vice versa. There will be singing, crafts and games. It will also give Joan and Brian and family a chance to meet more people in the church family. Everyone is -welcome and encour aged to attend. Please call Joan or Patty if you plan on attending. The Walton UCW Christmas din ner and meeting will be Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. Invite a friend and come and enjoy the evening. Mr. Hildebrand read from Mark about how Jesus delivered a message seateo on the Mount of Olives look ing out over the city of Jerusalem at the temple, just a few days before he was killed. The temple was made of stone, some 40 feet long and 18 feet high. The temple sat on a huge stone platform that was nearly a mile around at the base. Jesus tells them that not a single stone will be left in place, everyone of them will be thrown down. It must have been difficult for the disciples to grasp just what Jesus was saying as they were admiring the great engineering feat, he said. Mr. Hildebrand tried to find an example for everyone to help under stand how full of doubt the disciples must have felt on looking at this great edifice and hearing a prediction that seemed so impossible. The clos est he could come was picturing Neil McGavin and his sons gathered around him, sitting on the church steps looking out over Walton and someone telling him, “Someday all those tractors will be painted bright green.” The disciples were worried about Jesus’ prediction and asked ‘When will it happen, what will be the signs?” People have been waiting for the return of Jesus for centuries. “Do we Sample Please Complete Parents' Names $16.50 Enclosed D Mitchell Reilley McKay December 16 son of Joshua Gropp & Lisa McKay DEADLINE - DECEMBER 18 (2 p.m. in Brussels & 4 p.m. in Blyth) °F THE S00o atax its you COMMEMORATE THE NEWEST as humans need a deadline to get our lives together?
