Sports Lightning wins again On Sunday, Nov. 12, penalties would prove costly in the first game of the double-header for the visiting Brantford team as the Lightning Struck twice on power plays late in the period. Bridget Shedden opened the scor ing unassisted and Brittany Kellington found the comer with a spin around shot assisted by Jackie Zacher and Amanda Hill. After a scoreless second period, Katie Whytock hammered in the rebound of Brittany Roberts midway through the third period to complete the scoring for the 3-0 win. In game two, the Lightning faced a much more disciplined Brantford squad that finally got one past Terri Allen after she.stopped the first three shots in the first period. End-to-end action and stingy netminders kept both teams off the scoreboard in the second period. Early in the third, Heather Walker picked up a loose puck and went in all alone to snap it into the comer and tie the game. Brantford roared back and jumped into the lead less than a minute later. Roberts knotted the score when she slid the puck under the goalie and Hill put the Lightning into the lead for the first time in the game Stars shine over Chiefs Dogging him A Blyth Tyke Bulldog shadows his Brussels opponent behind the net in this match-up at the BMG arena on Saturday morning.
