Testament Luke 22 Jesus told his
disciples to sell their belongings and
to buy swords.
Rev. Ross’s sermon was on the
search for peace. Here in Canada, he
said, people are very ’fortunate. Our
native Indians who used to be
enemies are friends and the country
has opened its doors to members of
all races, he added. “Peace on this
earth is in each individual, it is up to

The Clinton and District Christian Schoo! Society thanks the following
individuals and businesses for their generous donations to the 13th Annual Talent and
Services Auction held at the school on Nov. 3, 2000. A big "THANK YOU!" to Richard Lobb and
Norm Whiting for auctioning for the night. Thanks to those who donated financially and those
who donated anonymously. With your help, $23, 500.00 was raised. We praise God for the
support of our community as we endeavor to educate His children according to His word.
Bible Study was held at
Londesboro United Church on Nov.
7. Scripture was from Isaiah 11
regarding the spirit of wisdom and
understanding. Judgement should
not be made on sight nor quick
belief in all one hears.
Discussion arose on Christ’s word
to help those in need. It was decided
that in this area there are very few
whom need help. However, if we
look to the cities and in some poorer
areas of our great country assistance
is needed. In numerous foreign lands
relief work is a blessing.
We in Canada are very fortunate.
The Londesboro ladies served
lunch and Rev. Ross closed with
prayer.
The Lapp families attended the
funeral of the late Rachel Denys at
Seaforth on Nov. 7. Mrs. Denys was
the mother of Walter Denys and his
wife Nancy. She will be sadly
missed by her children,
grandchildren and many friends.
Legion members honoured
Remembrance Day on Saturday,
Nov. 11. Elliott Lapp and Stewart
Ament took part in services. A
number of Auburn members are now
deceased: Stanley Ball, Donald
Sprung and Clare Vincent.
Everyone was surprised and
delighted when Dorothy Grange and
Hazel Craig were present for the
coffee club at Stickers Restaurant.
Maxine Seers had brought them.
