Society thanks the following individuals and businesses for their generous donations to the 13th Annual Talent and Services Auction held at the school on Nov. 3, 2000. A big "THANK YOU!" to Richard Lobb and Norm Whiting for auctioning for the night. Thanks to those who donated financially and those who donated anonymously. With your help, $23, 500.00 was raised. We praise God for the support of our community as we endeavor to educate His children according to His word. Bible Study was held at Londesboro United Church on Nov. 7. Scripture was from Isaiah 11 regarding the spirit of wisdom and understanding. Judgement should not be made on sight nor quick belief in all one hears. Discussion arose on Christ’s word to help those in need. It was decided that in this area there are very few whom need help. However, if we look to the cities and in some poorer areas of our great country assistance is needed. In numerous foreign lands relief work is a blessing. We in Canada are very fortunate. The Londesboro ladies served lunch and Rev. Ross closed with prayer. The Lapp families attended the funeral of the late Rachel Denys at Seaforth on Nov. 7. Mrs. Denys was the mother of Walter Denys and his wife Nancy. She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren and many friends. Legion members honoured Remembrance Day on Saturday, Nov. 11. Elliott Lapp and Stewart Ament took part in services. A number of Auburn members are now deceased: Stanley Ball, Donald Sprung and Clare Vincent. Everyone was surprised and delighted when Dorothy Grange and Hazel Craig were present for the coffee club at Stickers Restaurant. Maxine Seers had brought them.
