Jesus Christ Superstar will be directed by Gordon Davis who, dur ing his 30 year career, has directed over 100 productions while building the Elmira Youth Players into one of the most high-profile drama troupes in Ontario. Musical director is Fen Watkin. Watkin has just completed his 36th season with the Charlottetown Festival and still finds time to assist many Canadian composers in preparing their works for orchestra. Jesus Christ Superstar is an account of the last seven days of Christ’s life, from the entry into Jerusalem to the crucifixion. The story is told, not in the traditional way, but through the eyes of Judas Iscariot, one of Christ’s disciples. Darrell Kuwabara from Waterloo will play the part of Jesus. Kuwabara is also a vocalist with a local band, Innuendo. Jay Davis plays the part of Judas, a role he portrayed in the European tour of the musical. He has also per formed recently in Grease in Toronto. Robin Habermehl will play the part of Pontius Pilate. He is an accomplished musician and has played in numerous CBC specials. Amanda Brunk will perform the part of Mary Magdalene. K-W Musical Productions is a non-professional community organi zation that has been providing quali ty family entertainment in the Kitchener-Waterloo region since 1948.
