On Nov. 1, the team laced them up against Hensail. Brussels took an early lead and never relinquished it, winning 10-2. Adam McClure, Brent Wheeler and Matt McClinchey each scored in the first before Hensail got on the board. Assists went to Matt White, Wheeler, McClinchey and Phil Wedow. Brussels added four in the second period while holding the home team to just one. Putting the puck in the net were McClure, McClinchey, Wheeler and Steven Ropp. Aiding on the plays were Scott Phillips, Wedow, Tyler Jutzi, Andrew McDonald and Greg Bowers. With the 7-2 lead, Brussels padded the tally when White, Tate Stephenson and Bowers each earned a netter in the third. Assists went to McClinchey, White and Wheeler. Three days later, the squad had a tougher match against Clinton. Down by two going into the sec­ ond period, Bowers scored to bring them to within one. McDonald and McClinchey assisted. Brussels trailed 6-1 before the offence kicked in, and though they fell short, they scored three late in the third. Beating the goalie were Wheeler, Jutzi and Justin Mayne. Assists were earned by McClure, Mitch Blake, Brett Hunt, Phillips and McClinchey. (Vicky Bremner photo) Novices lose to Milverton Difficulties at both ends of the ice led to a loss for the Brussels Novices when they travelled to Milverton. Nov. 3. Joel Wilkinson and Evan Ducharme had several good shots on net in the early going but the home- towners struck first. Milverton took advantage of a power play and slid it by Ryan Smith at 7:40. Brussels pulled even at 4:16 when a falling Taylor Prior got the puck ahead to Ducharme who went in Stars shine over Sting In week four of Blyth Industrial League hockey play, the Sting and Bulldogs were victorious. The Stars were trounced by the Sting, 8-3 on goals by Jim Oster (three), Drew Alien (two), Gary Lynch, Brent Brooks and Scott Stevenson. Scoring for the Stars were Jeff Cowan, Scott Bromley and Chad Haggitt. There was high-powered shooting when the Bulldogs and Auburn took to the ice. Bulldogs outscored Auburn 14-10. Scoring for the winners were Jason McCash (four), Mike Bromley (three), Brian Marks (two), Chris Taylor (two), Casey Boven, Shawn Bromley and Greg Blok. Beating the opponent’s netminder, for the Auburn squad, were Ryan Chamney (five), Craig Vanstone (two), Peter Craig (two) and Jason Rutledge. The Stars take on the Chiefs next week as do the Sting and Bulldogs. alone for the netter. However, it was all Milverton after that as they tallied seven more. Brendan Stretton put the puck to the netminder often but was stonewalled.
