PAGE 32. THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY. NOVEMRER 1.2000, PEOPLE AROUND CRANBROOK aIf z By Peter Hagedoom Call 4. <887-6935 FROM CRANBROOK Last Saturday at 11:30 p.m. there was a spectacular display of aurora borealis in the northern sky. Commencing at the bottom with bright green it displayed arrays of greens and reds. Leslie Knight turned 65 this month and took his family out to supper at the Fireside Cafe on Saturday. I did not know this but it is tradition (I was told) to spend your first retirement cheque on a treat for the family. Years ago I followed an older tradi tion and let others pay for my retire ment party. Anyway happy retire ment to Leslie. Then the Leslie and Yvonne Knight family entertained their niece Angela Siemon and her finance Jeff Badley at the Cranbrook Hall for their upcoming wedding in December. Many people attended and it was a fun party. Friday, Oct. 3, there will be a ' euchre party at the Cranbrook Hall again at 8 p.m. Please bring lunch. I have been writing the Cranbrook news for a while and it is not as sim ple as it seems. Sometimes I want to report some things people do not want mentioned. Sometimes a party cannot be reported because the peo ple involved forgot to invite others and so on. That is why I write about my Millennium Twins. I can freely call one chubby and the other scrawny and poke gentle fun at them. By the time they are old enough to sue me I am too old to stand trial. A win/win situation! CLEAN HOUSE!
