The guest speaker was Rev. Lorenzo Ramirez, who was minister at Blyth United from 1987 - 93. Greeters were Loma Fraser and Barbara Hicks. Ushering was Steve Cook and Warren and Erin Moore. Organist was Barb Bosman. Nicole Kerr was in charge of the nursery. Rick and Ashley Howson led the congregation in singing prior to the service starting. Harvey Snell led the service. The Hymn of Praise was Come, Let Us Sing. A quartet with members Rick Howson, Gayle Poore, Barb Bosman and Bodie Craig sang Just a Little Talk with Jesus. Harvey Snell read the gospel les son John 10: 7-18. For the children’s time Rev. Ramirez spoke about being thankful. He used a glass and some water to emphasize being thank“full”. The sermon was entitled Celebrate and Give Thanks. He told a story of a young man, who saw an old man planting a peach tree. He questioned if the older man would live to enjoy the fruit from the tree. The older man replied that he was thankful that he had always been able to enjoy peaches and the tree was so that oth ers could enjoy the fruit. Rev. Ramirez talked about remem bering the times that he and his fam ily spent in Blyth. He also told about the church that he is now at in London. He commented that “the time spent with the congregation was both a privilege, as well as a responsibility.” Lavem Clark, Warren Moore and Steve and Debbie Cook collected the offering.
