OPP report vandalism, theft, shots fired
$2,000 WORTH OF HUBCAPS
STOLEN - BLYTH
On Sept. 27 at l: 15 p.m. hubcaps
were reported stolen from a 1984
Buick LeSabre in Blyth on Queen
Street.
The vehicle was parked next to
Courtney's Lumber Centre when
someone entered onto the lot and
removed four wire rimmed hubcaps.
The theft occurred sometime in the
last two weeks.
MAILBOX BLOWN UP IN
MORRIS TWP.
On Oct. 1 just before 9:45 a.m. a
resident from St. Michael's Road in
Morris Twp. reported damage to a
mailbox. An officer attended to find
that a black metal mailbox next to
the driveway had been destroyed.
Someone during the night, using
an explosive solution placed inside
the box, blew it off the post and split
the box open.
BICYCLE DAMAGED IN
BRUSSELS
On Oct. 1 at approximately 11:30
a.m. damage was reported to a
bicycle left near a parking lot at the
Brussels Country Inn.
A three-wheel adult tricycle was
found with the rim of a tire and the
handlebars bent; as well, accessory
parts were ripped off the frame.
GUN FIRE HEARD IN
COLBORNE TWP.
A citizen in Colbome Twp. north
of Goderich contacted Huron OPP
last night after hearing what they
thought was gunfire. Officers
responded and heard more gunfire.
Early Oct. 1 weapons were seized
and suspects were detained.
Presently Huron OPP assisted by a
helicopter, canine, ERT and TRU
units are searching a contained
perimeter for another possible
suspect.
Anyone who can help solve this
crime is asked to call the local OPP
office or Crime Stoppers.

The Belgrave Seniors meeting is
on Friday, Oct. 6 at 1:30 p.m. in the
Belgrave Community Centre.

HU offers breast exam classes
Cancer Care Huron is pleased to
announce funding from the Canadian
Breast Cancer Foundation in support
of breast health programs in the
county.
With almost 12 deaths from breast
cancer in Huron County each year,
Cancer Care Huron will use a
portion of the $7,170 grant to
provide breast self-examination
Looking for asthma triggers

children and teachers.to identify and
avoid asthma triggers whenever
possible.
The more common triggers are:
• respiratory infections (eg. head
colds and sore throats)
• pet allergens
• dust mites
• moulds
• pollen
• irritants (eg. cleaning agents,
paint fumes)
• air pollution
• very cold air
classes which encourage women to
practice good breast health.
The free classes will teach women
how to do a breast self-exam and
discuss the importance of
mammograms. They will be told
what occur during the examination
and where to go for testing.
Clinton Public Hospital will host
the class Oct. 12; South Huron
Public Hospital, Oct. 16; Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital, Nov. 6
and Wingham and District Hospital,
Nov. 9. All classes begin at 7:30 p.m.
