Wawanosh plans family celebration West Wawanosh Twp. is planning to celebrate the end of West Wawanosh as a single municipality. The Nov. 18 family night was discussed at the Sept. 19 session of council. AH township residents past and present are invited to the Lucknow and District Community Centre for the 8 p.m. event which will include local entertainment and a dance. Individuals, groups, families, concession and sideroad neighbours are encouraged to enter a skit, musical number or other entertainment. Approval was given to the restructuring grant application and the clerk and reeve were authorized to sign the agreement of behalf of the township. Road Superintendent George Humphrey was authorized to purchase 25 sugar maple and 25 native red maple from the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority. Minutes of the Sept. 5 meeting were amended to read John Martin instead of John Foran in motion 00- 09-161. Council concurred with the petition from Stephen Twp. asking the provincial government to refrain from selling the Ontario Clean Water Agency or any water resource to the private sector. General and road accounts totalling $120,797.74 and $4,723.43 were approved for payment. Ready for the new year A goodly number attended the Lion’s pancake breakfast at the Aubum Hall on Sunday. Bible Study was at Lois Haines’s home on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 1:30 p.m. The church board meets at 8 p.m. on Oct. 10. Campfire and hot dogs will be served at Goodall’s on Thursday, Oct. 5 for the Youth Group. Congratulations to Pamela Schneider, Christine Lapp, Saira Peesker and Pamela Morrison and all others from Auburn who graduated or received awards from Goderich District Collegiate Institute this past week. I was unable to attend World Wide Communion on Sunday but thanks to TV was still able to participate via North Street Presbyterian Church, Kitchener. It is really a blessing from God. Jackie McKee presented me with a beautiful chrysanthemum from the Walkerbum Club. I’ll enjoy it now and outdoors for many years to come. Thanks, Club!
