The vehicle was stopped after a local citizen raised concerns over the behaviour of the occupants. A search of the occupants and interior of the vehicle turned up a large quantity of cannabis resin and drug paraphernalia. Three have been charged with possession of a con trolled substance and will attend court in Goderich on Oct. 30. An 18-year-old and a 19-year-old from Blyth and an 18-year-old from Morris Twp. Kathy Corner By Kathy Bromley Call 523-4497 It seems there has been some talk about the Legion lately. The Legion is not a place strictly for drinking as many have labelled it. The Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary are a non-profit organiza tion. In turn the money raised goes back into the community whether it be for seniors, school/students or ice equipment at the arena, to name just a few. Last year over $33,000 was donated to numerous functions from the Legion alone. As it is with the Legion, many of the original founders of the Blyth Thresher Reunion of 1961 are no longer present to participate. But they are up above giving them a perfect view of an annual event that continues to expand and bring in more tourists every year. Like the Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary a great percentage of the money raised each year is put back into our community. The area for trailers to park in and be hooked up to hydro continues to expand. In turn, more people are able to be here for a longer period of time. Now is this not what non-profit organizations are all about? Where would we be without our Legion, Ladies Auxiliary, Lions Club, etc.?. They definitely are the backbone of our small community. This is for avid gar deners who would like to enhance their gardens by swapping plants at no cost. For the first-time gardener, this is a terrific way to get started. Perennials are fairly expensive and fast grow ing, so you can get lots of colour in a very short time. Fall is a perfect time to separate your perennials.
