Family members work together on committee THE CAMPING BOSSES Since getting the new computer program, the role of camping chairperson has become considerably easier for Chris Courtney. Her crew also gets a helping hand this year from her husband Gary, the Association’s past president. Gary, who began coming to the Reunion some 20 years ago, served three years as director, two as second vice, two as first vice and just completed two as president. “Those years were an experience, challenging, fun, but a lot of work. I also got to meet some really nice * people," he says. That there is a camaraderie more than familiar may not be so surprising, howev­ er. Throughout the history of the event, organ­ izers and directors often share the same name. Brothers, uncles, husbands, wives, siblings and children have been attracted not just to the show, but to the team that puts the huge event together year after year. One such family is the Courtneys of Blyth.
