Many, many thanks to all volunteers who helped at the Optimist Food Booth during TransCan Motocross races. The Brussels Optimists could not undertake such an event without community support of all ages. Grey Twp. firemen scheduled to help us were busy fighting a barn fire so off-duty volunteers pitched in and worked extra hours. All proceeds raised during the event will be returned into our local community. We are seeking the right person to continue moving us forward. the successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day management of the office, providing major involvement to the United Way fall campaign. Previous fund-raising experience is a necessity. We are looking for someone who can work independently with initiative and enthusiasm, and possesses excellent people and communication skills. Some past experience in community development, marketing, and/or work with voluntary organizations would be an asset. Starting salary range is $22,000 to $24,000 yearly. FEED MILL OPERATOR Duties include operation of feed mill equipment in order to process livestock feed orders, loading trucks, handling bags, and various other duties. Interpersonal skills in order to communicate with other employees and customers, a mechanical aptitude and the ability to follow instructions for the input of feed ingredients are necessary skills for this position. A DZ licence and Grade 12 education is preferred but not mandatory. This is a full-time position that involves shift work on a 24 hour basis with weekend work included. The compensation is a competitive hourly rate with a full comprehensive benefit package including a pension plan as per corporate policy.
