Area couple celebrates 60th anniversary at open house
Congratulations
The bridal couple was attended by
Mildred (Thornton) Taylor and
Jasper Snell.
Following the ceremony they hon
eymooned in Brantford, where they
visited cousins, then on to Niagara
Falls and Toronto.
When they returned to their
Westfield home, Ernest gained
recognition as a local businessman,
operating a chicken hatching busi
ness, a farm equipment dealership a
feed mill and grain elevator over the
years.
The couple also raised their fami
ly. Ron, now of Delevan, NY, Mary
Forrest of Hensail, Marvin,
Elaine, Bill and Edythe. all of
Westfield.
The family has grown to include
Ernest and Anna Snell were the guests of honour for a dia
mond occasion as they celebrated 60 years of marriage
with family and friends at an open house, Saturday. (Vicky

It was a diamond celebration at the
Westfield Hall on Saturday as well-
known local residents Ernest and
Marvin and Mary McDowell and her
groom, a son of Gordon and Ella
Snell of East Wawanosh, were united
nine grandchildren and 11 great
grandchildren.
Ernest was ' a reeve of East
Wawanosh Twp. and both have been
faithful members of Westfield
Fellowship church. In retirement
they enjoy spending their time read
ing.

Performing the ceremony, held at the
home of the bride, was Rev. Hugh
Wilson.
Special guests attending the
anniversary celebration included a
brother, Don Snell from Comrose,
AB, and Anna’s cousin Jack
Anna Snell celebrated 60 years of
marriage.

While current Huron County Queen of the Furrow Amanda Denys of Kippen speaks to those
gathered in the Howick Twp. shed for the county plowing match last Friday, the three queen

NOTICE is hereby given that the Voter's List prepared as required by the Municipal
Election Act will be available from Tuesday, September 5th, 2000 for inspection at the
Municipal Office's, Seaforth, Brussels and Grey.
AND I hereby call upon all electors to examine the list to ensure that their names and
relevant information is correctly shown. Applications for inclusions, additions, or
corrections to or deletions from the list may be made by an elector completing and filing
a form obtained at the municipal office during normal office hours.
• The last day for filing applications by an elector on their own behalf
concerning inclusions, additions, corrections or deletions is Monday,
November 13th, 2000 at 8:00 p.m.
• Revisions will commence at the Municipal Office's, Seaforth, Brussels or Grey
on the 5th day of September, 2000.

candidate, a $100.00 filing fee (cash, money order to
certified cheque) and identification of the candidate
are required.

candidate may solicit or accept contributions for
election purposes; or incur expenses, until that
person’s nomination registration has been filed.
