Dr. Henning hopes that the serious effects of chickenpox will be reduced as more children receive this vaccine. The vaccine is recom mended for any child over one year of age, especially for those children in day care or school. Adolescents and women of childbearing age who have not had chickenpox are also urged to consider this vaccination. The vaccine is very safe, works well, and costs about $70 to $80 per dose. Talk to your family doctor about the vaccine. Pharmacies and Doctors have this vaccine on hand. The chickenpox vaccine is also available for a fee at the Health Unit only by appointment.
