Box Office Westcoast hires new co-ordinator Goderich Little Theatre and Wingham Town Hall Heritage Theatre announce the hiring of Margot Laberge Hall as co-ordinator for Box Office Westcoast. The intent of the project is to begin to set up a box office system that will provide a design, marketing and sales service for Huron County’s cultural, recreational, and service club events. Initially Box Office Westcoast will have two main sites. One site will be at the Heritage Theatre in Wingham and the other at the Livery Theatre in Goderich. Box Office Westcoast will be establishing a client list which will include, but not be limited to, The Wingham Town Hall Heritage Theatre, The Town of Goderich and Wingham Recreation Departments, the local area churches and service clubs. Although it will take time to initiate a full service to all of Huron County, non-profit organizations from anywhere in Huron County can request to become a client. Box Office Westcoast will provide clients with marketing through poster distribution, on-line advertis- ing through a Box Office Westcoast website, and links to radio and press. In addition Box Office Westcoast will operate a six day a week, 12 hour a day box office in Wingham and Goderich where local residents and visitors can purchase tickets to local events in person, by phone on a toll-free line or on-line via Internet. Box Office Westcoast will provide a co-ordinating service for the Wingham and Goderich area by helping community events holders choose their events dates so as not to conflict with other events thereby increasing their potential market share. Such a service does not con flict with any existing services but meets the needs of the local commu nities. In addition to its marketing and box office function, the participants will act as producers for a youth concert series to be staged at the Wingham Town Hall Heritage Theatre and the Livery in Goderich. “Enlisting support for this project was very easy,” said Laberge Hall, “The need for a sustainable box office is very real.” Renowned performers to appear at Celtic Fest. The Celtic Roots Festival in Goderich will once again play host to internationally and nationally renowned performers during the sec ond weekend of August. Headlining the show will be Lunasa, Ireland’s hottest new group and Aoife Clancy, former lead singer for Cherish the Ladies. Instrumentalists from Ireland and France will team up to entertain with foot-stomping jigs and reels. Musicians from both ends of Canada and provinces in between will help round out the tremendous selection of Celtic music’s hottest performers. Aside for the musical treats, the festival offers a craft area, children’s participatory area, dance stage, sto rytelling and four other workshop stages. Advance tickets for the Lion’s Harbour Park weekend event are $37 for adults, $29 for seniors and $24 for youth. Children are free when accompanied by an adult. Daily gate prices are $15, $12 and $10. For more information call 519- 524-8221 or check out the web at www.celticfestival.on.ca.
