Brussels Livestock report
Charolais bull goes for $96.50, weighs 2,000 lbs.
Total receipts at Brussels
Livestock for the week ending July
21 were 2,216 head of cattle and 535
lambs and goats.
The fed steers and heifers sold at
steady prices to last week. All
weights of cattle sold at strong
prices. All weights of Stocker cattle
sold very strong at prices $2 to $5
higher.
There were 582 fed steers on offer
selling from $102 to $108 with sales
to $120.25. A black steer consigned
by John Smuck, Wingham, weighing
1,365 lbs. sold to Norwich Packers
for $117.75 with his overall offering
of seven steers averagihg 1,378 lbs.
selling for an average of $107.34. A
limousin steer consigned by Walter
McKenzie, Dublin, weighing 1,265
lbs. sold to Norval Meat Packers for
$117 with his overall offering of four
steers averaging 1,378 lbs. selling
for an average of $107.50.
A limousin steer consigned by
Lauderlea Farms, Listowel,
weighing 1,405 lbs. sold to Norwich
Packers for $115.75 with their
overall offering of ten steers
averaging 1,352 Ib.s. selling for
an average of $111.98. Two
steers consigned by Russel
Kernighan, Goderich, averaging
1,250 lbs. sold for an average of
$110.73 with sales to $114. Twenty
steers consigned by Leroy Gould,
Exeter, averaging 1,395 lbs. sold for
an average of $108.99 with sales to
$114.75.

Martin, Chesley, averaging 1,419
lbs. sold for an average of $107.78
with sales to $111.50. Eight steers
consigned by George Bauman,
Kenilworth, averaging 1,395 lbs.
sold for an average of $107.01 with
sales to $115. Twenty-five steers
consigned by Cunningham Farms,
Lucan, averaging 1,450 lbs. sold for
an average of $106.53 with sales to
$111.75. Thirteen steers consigned
by Kada Farms, Bluevale, averaging
1,336 lbs. sold for an average of
$106.02 with sales to $112.50.

M. Martin, Elmira, averaging 1,273
lbs. sold for an average of $105.22
with sales to $111.
There were 431 fed heifers on
offer selling from $102 to $108 with
sales to $115. A limousin heifer
consigned by Doug Calhoune,
Chesley, weighing 1,025 lbs. sold to
Dominion Meat Packer for $115
with his overall offering of 83
heifers averaging 1,178 lbs. selling
for an average of $106.93. A
limousin heifer consigned by Les
Young, Cargill, weighing 1,095 lbs.
sold to Norwich Packers for $113.75
with his overall offering of thirteen
heifers averaging 1,194 lbs. selling
for an average of $104.67. Two
heifers consigned by Andrew Kuntz,
Formosa, averaging 1,190 lbs. sold
for an average of $105.95 with sales
to $108.75. Two heifers consigned
by Kevin Gray, Harriston, averaging
1,340 lbs. sold for an average of
$105.38 with sales to $108.

to $105.75.
There were 255 cows on offer. DI
and D2 cows sold $60 to $65 with
sales to $75; D3, $55 to $60; D4, $45
to $50. Two holstein cows consigned
by Keith Davenport, Owen Sound,
averaging 1,263 lbs. sold for an
average of $68.86 with sales to $75.
Eight cows consigned by Bob Inglis,
Clifford, averaging 1,088 lbs. sold
for an average of $63.19 with sales
to $75. One charolais cow consigned
by Silver Dollar Charolais Ltd.,
