The hanging baskets and planters on the main street have added colour to the downtown core. The wave petunias will also soon be cascading over the sides of the bridge at the Blyth Creek. Kathy Lorentz-Hare RMT, CST, Blyth Figure Skating Club, Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Huron Pioneer Threshers, Blyth Business Association, Blyth Horticulture society have all donated crabapple trees. Ethel Ball opened the meeting with a poem regarding quilting. Janice Vodden had given it to her. Roll call was answered on how The Auburn WI is planning a mystery tour on Aug. 23. Walkerbum Club’s potluck picnic will be held at Lions Park on July 23 beginning at 12:30 p.m. Members are to bring something for the program and everyone bring lawn chairs and dishes. Museum hosts birdhouse workshop Joseph Schneider Haus Museum is hosting a free Birdhouse Building Workshop on Thursday, July 27 from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. It is intended for grandparents and grandchildren to enjoy each other’s company while working together on this project for a summer’s day.
