From 1991-1992, playing in the
sandbox to playing baseball in
Grade 8 in the year 2000, we sure
have come a long way. Parents,
teachers, fellow classmates and
guests, welcome to our graduation. I
stand before you a representative of
2000 and am filled with anticipation
and regret.
I am looking forward to going into
high school and beginning a new
time in my life but regret that we
will not all be going to the same
school. We have been friends and
classmates for nine years and it will
seem different not seeing the same
faces next year.
Our journey to Grade 8 began in
Mr. Park’s class when on that first
day we met each other and formed
friendships that will last a lifetime.
Many of you probably remember
singing along with him and his
banjo.
In Grade l we became the class
that we are today as both kinder
garten classes became one. We had
Mrs. Walter that year, and we lost
the best thing we ever had, nap time!
We learned how to write and'read,
and Mrs. Walter must have had the
best time of her teaching career with
us.
In Grade 2 we were split up again,
some of us with Mrs. Walter and
some with Mrs. Bosman. Those who
had Mrs. Walter went on learning to
read and write and those with Mrs.
Bosman began their singing careers.
In Grade 2 we were still split up
between Mr. Sanders and Mrs.
Radford. Mr. Sanders introduced us
to playing soccer and swinging on
the swings. In Mrs. Radford’s room,
her kids got to eat the popcorn the
rest of us just got
to smell. They
also made paper
that year. That
was also the year
we started junior
choir. •
In Grade 4 with
Mr. Livermore
we all learned
more about sports
than we ever
thought imaginable. In gym we
played sports by the rules or else.
We also had sport quizzes every day
and math contests between the guys
and the girls. The way 1 remember it,
the guys ruled. Right?
In Grade 5 we had Mr. Gingerich,
a disciplinarian. After all. we were
seniorsnow! Don’t speak out in his
class; ask anyone. He taught us how
to square dance. Swing your partner,
docy, doe!
In Grade 6 we were split up again
between Mr. Gingerich and Mrs.
Stennett. We started music with her
and enjoyed a potluck dinner. Those
who had Mr. Gingerich got more
discipline, but also more time on the
ICONS too. This was also the year
we started band and the senior choir.
In Grade 7 we were still split up
between Mrs. Stennett’s class, Mrs.
Pickell’s class and Mrs. Reaman’s
class. It was a year of more band and
choir and we began to make up our
own sports. One class visited the
Huron County Museum and the East
Wawanosh Nature Centre while the
other class got candy and extra gym
