Bluth Public School
Valedictorian writes poetic ode to Blyth grads

We Will Lead the
Way
As we part today.
There are so
many things I
want to say.
“Farewell, my
friend,
Best wishes,” I send.
But no words can fill.
The sudden chill.
Of our final time
To hear this school’s chime.
It’s not all goodbyes though.
There will be a new, “Hello,”
Tomorrow as we find us,
Whether that be here or on a bus.
Don't let the media decide who
you should be,
Because everyone will eventually
see,
It isn’t real and everyone hides
their own special pearl,
Whether you be a special boy or
girl.
You wait and see
What the future will be like for
you and me.
It holds promise if we can grasp it.
But never let anyone convince you
to quit.
We would not be here today
If it weren’t for that sunny ray.
That so many have contributed
into our lives,
I want to say, "Thank you, to all
these husbands and wives.”
Over the years,
There have been many victories
and cheers.
These have been shared,
With all of us, your friends, who
cared. As the first class of the millenni

Leaving this place has brought,
Into my head quite a lot of
thought.
I know the doors are always open,
And some of us may return here
now and then.
I have heard that, “Change makes
us uncomfortable,”
I understand, it’s like being
dragged across gravel.
But together we can face it with
fun,
Because soon the grad parties will
have begun!
To some of us this is no big deal.
These people know how to keep it
real.
For those of us, who make the big
fuss,
I'm glad you're still having fun,
with the rest of us.
um.
We will be able to decide what is
to come,
We can lead the way, change the
mood,
Create something not to be booed.
Whatever the attitude, it’s all good
Long enough I now have stood.
So I say just one last word of
advice,
“Wear your sunscreen and try to
be nice!”
