Bluth Public School Valedictorian writes poetic ode to Blyth grads By Alicia Marshall We Will Lead the Way As we part today. There are so many things I want to say. “Farewell, my friend, Best wishes,” I send. But no words can fill. The sudden chill. Of our final time To hear this school’s chime. It’s not all goodbyes though. There will be a new, “Hello,” Tomorrow as we find us, Whether that be here or on a bus. Don't let the media decide who you should be, Because everyone will eventually see, It isn’t real and everyone hides their own special pearl, Whether you be a special boy or girl. You wait and see What the future will be like for you and me. It holds promise if we can grasp it. But never let anyone convince you to quit. We would not be here today If it weren’t for that sunny ray. That so many have contributed into our lives, I want to say, "Thank you, to all these husbands and wives.” Over the years, There have been many victories and cheers. Leaving this place has brought, Into my head quite a lot of thought. I know the doors are always open, And some of us may return here now and then. I have heard that, “Change makes us uncomfortable,” I understand, it’s like being dragged across gravel. But together we can face it with fun, Because soon the grad parties will have begun! To some of us this is no big deal. These people know how to keep it real. For those of us, who make the big fuss, I'm glad you're still having fun, with the rest of us. um. We will be able to decide what is to come, We can lead the way, change the mood, Create something not to be booed. Whatever the attitude, it’s all good Long enough I now have stood. So I say just one last word of advice, “Wear your sunscreen and try to be nice!”
