PUC Foreman Bill Bromley
advised council that the tree on the
Eckert property would have to be
removed to repair the problem with
the McConnell Street drain. He was
told to proceed with the work.

Bills and accounts in the amount
of $130,136.14 were approved for
payment.

Council supported PUC’s approval
of the Blyth Festival installing a light
on the north side of Memorial Hall.
A Bluevale man is in jail for com
mitting an assault causing bodily
harm and for failing to comply with
an order.
Joseph Michael Matthews pled not
guilty to the charge of aggravated
assault but guilty to the lesser charge
when he appeared before Judge
Garry Hunter in Wingham’s court,
June I5.
Matthews also pled guilty to the
breach charge.
He was sentenced to 90 days for
the assault which occurred Sept. 4
and 30 days consecutive for failing
to comply with an order that he not
consume alcohol.

Darlene Harper was fined $400 for
the harrassment and $100 for failing
to comply with an order that she not
communicate with the victim.
She was also placed on 12-months
probation.
“Do it again and I won’t be fining
you," said Hunter. “You have one
prior for this, now two. The third
lime around there is no doubt you’ll
be going to jail.
Cause distrubance
Hans Oliver Mayer of Wingham
pled guilty to a charge of causing a
disturbance by fighting in a public
place and to a second charge of fail
ing to appear in court.
He was fined $300 for the first
charge and $100 for the latter.
